Go for Unicron

Airdate: 7/3/04

There’s something of a recap of the final moments of the last episode at the beginning of this one with Megatron watching Scorponok’s comet hitting the energon grid. Scorponok somehow survives the impact and is launched back into space while still tied to his little shard of Unicron.

Carlos tells the Autobots that the tracking devices Ironhide put on the Terrorcons he encountered in Energon Grid are showing up in two enemy bases. Megatron observes Rodimus’ trio coming to Scorponok’s rescue and sends Starscream out to determine the origins of their ship. The spectral seeker avoids all attacks until the other Decepticons arrive. Snow Cat is used as comic relief again (having been used for this purpose in the previous episode) and the three renegade Autobots hand the entire Decepticon crew their tailpipes. After the battle, Rodimus offers to help Scorponok while Alpha-Q warns the wounded Transformer not to trust him.

On Earth, Dr. Jones unveils an advanced new spacecraft for long-range energon gathering. Prime adds Strongarm, Skyblast, and Misha to his team and announces his plan to destroy both bases and Unicron.

Snow Cat warns Megatron once the Autobots arrive near the Decepticon base and damages the spacebridge ring before the Autobots can set up any defenses. The Autobots and Decepticons duke it out while the two Omnicons attempt to repair the ring so that an energon shield can be established. Surprise, surprise, the Decepticons are held off long enough to activate the shield. Surprising though, is that Demolishor is trapped in the shield and vows revenge upon Prime as his body is destroyed. Megatron captures his spark and returns to his fortress.
