Alpha Q Identity
Airdate: 7/3/04
This looks like an interesting episode with a bunch of new Decepticons running across a ruined Cybertronian landscape and the first scene ends with Shockblast chained underground. Snow Cat and Demolishor bring Megatron the news of several Decepticons escaping Autobot imprisonment.
Rodimus narrates the story of Alpha-Q’s planet’s destruction. Alpha-Q’s race was able to put Unicron into a deep sleep right before their destruction. Alpha-Q was the only survivor and discovered that anything Unicron devoured, he could recreate with enough energon. Apparently the Terrorcons existed on some other planet and had been recreated by Alpha-Q. Rodimus hopes to help Alpha-Q in order to resurrect all the planets Unicron had destroyed and that they need Kicker to find more energon to realize this.
On Earth, Dr. Jones worries about Kicker and wants the Autobots to go out searching for him, but his wife placates him and tells him that Kicker can handle himself. Rodimus brings Kicker to Alpha-Q and the human confirms what viewers may have suspected for some time. The blue face with horns is Alpha-Q’s real face and the others are masks. Kicker insults Alpha-Q and attacks him to “free” the being hidden behind the masks.
Prime, Hot Shot, and Inferno hunt for Decepticons and realize that Shockblast is still imprisoned. They discuss “renegade Decepticon” while he struggles to escape and nameless Autobots and Decepticons battle inside the prison. Tidal Wave tells Megatron that they can’t work with Shockblast because he’s too vicious.
Back in Unicron, Kicker continues attacking Alpha-Q’s outer shell until Alpha-Q finally relents and forms some sort of psychic bond with Kicker. He shows Kicker Terrorcons and Scorponok on his home planet fighting against Unicron and being destroyed. Alpha-Q whines about Rodimus failing his promise as the planet is devoured. Scorponok (in the vision) counsels Alpha-Q to destroy the planet to deal with Unicron. Pretty lame considering Alpha-Q had said he was the voice of everyone on his planet only to find out that he was exactly the same on his home planet and that the Terrorcons weren’t actually from a different planet. Kicker encourages Alpha-Q to fight the Decepticons.
Shockblast breaks his chains and a Decepticon arrives and tells him Megatron needs his help. Shockblast smokes the Decepticon for no reason other than the fact that he’s a bad, bad mother…
The end of the episode is kind of confusing, but I think Alpha-Q was bringing his half of Unicron back to life or something.
