Survival Instincts

The episode picks up more or less where the last left off with the Decepticon prisoners escaping Cybertron. Many of their ships are destroyed when the energon shield is reactivated. The remaining ships arrive at Megatron’s half of Unicron and Tidal Wave raises his doubts on their future usefulness.

Prime continues his discussion with Alpha-Q in Unicron’s head and wonders if Unicron could really be controlled once he’s revived. He also reiterates that his duty is to protect Cybertron and that means taking care of Megatron. Meanwhile, on the Decepticon half of Unicron, internal defenses start killing off the new recruits without regard for Megatron’s commands. There’s a particularly gruesome mass-murder while Snowcat bosses troops around. Starscream discovers that Unicron is draining the energon from the fallen prisoners and Terrorcons. The Autobots in Unicron’s head are also attacked by Unicron’s defenses and Rodimus’ ship is destroyed in the attack and he is forced to retreat with the other Autobots.

Kicker, Misha, Ironhide and some Omnicons are left to stay to feed energon to Unicron while the others return to Cybertron. Primus explains to Prime that Rodimus working with the Omnicons was foretold and that there is hope for peace if the Omnicons can find the endless source of energon. He also tells Prime that there is a new warrior that will help the Omnicons in their battle.

The group inside Unicron runs into a dead end within Unicron. Kicker calls for Alpha-Q’s help and Scorponok pleads for his leader to work with the human. Prime returns to Unicron with the new Omnicon warrior – Arcee. She arrives on the scene and Prime explains that she organized the Omnicon survival plans in the past. She takes command of the Omnicons and has Kicker guide her to Unicron’s core. When the Omnicons arrive, they fire energon into Unicron’s core and it appears to sate his hunger. Megatron realizes that Unicron was merely hungry and rambles about how he’ll feed him his main course at Cybertron
