Cartoon
Bio: Jazz was a high-ranking Autobot at the time that Optimus
Prime decided they needed to search the galaxy for energon. He was part
of the group of Autobots and Decepticons that crash-landed on Earth and
lay dormant for four million years until the year 1984. As the Autobots
and Decepticon restarted the Great War, Jazz took a leadership role as
second in command of the Autobots. He would give orders to Autobots that
seemed to be much older than him like Ironhide, Trailbreaker and Ratchet.
Jazzs fighting skills were much better than a lot of his Autobot
companions, who didnt consider themselves to be fighters. Jazz played
an important role in a lot of missions, when Megatron was controlling
the Autobots; Jazz and Bumblebee were the only Autobots that managed to
avoid Megatrons plan. Jazz and Bumblebee were able to stop Megatron
with the help of Spike Witwicky and Jazz destroyed the rocket that the
Decepticons built with a Musical Sonic Boom. When Optimus Prime was taken
control of by the Decepticons, Ironhide took a leadership role amongst
the Autobots. By this time, Jazz had been demoted to a regular Autobot
soldier. Jazz still played an important roll within the Autobot ranks.
When Starscream, Astrotrain and a group of Decepticons had taken control
of a group of humanoids on Saturns moon, Titan, Jazz led a group
of Autobots to foil their plans. Jazz was an important addition to the
Autobots war against the Decepticons, but he also played an important
social roll. He was interacted with humans very well because of his human
behaviour. He often spoke with Spike and Sparkplug Witwicky. He was sent
along with Cliffjumper to attend an unveiling ceremony of a statue of
Optimus Prime that the humans built. At the unveiling ceremony, Starscream
and the Combaticons captured him and Cliffjumper. Optimus Prime and the
Autobots rescued them. Jazz developed a close friendship with Blaster
over their years on Earth because of their similar personalities. Both
loved earthen music, even though it usually drove the other Autobots crazy.
By the year 2005, Jazz was stationed on Moon Base 1. They were planning
to attack Cybertron, which was fully controlled by the Decepticons, but
the Moon Base was attacked by Unicron. Unicron devoured the Moon Base
with Jazz and Cliffjumper on it. The two met up with Bumblebee and Spike
Witwicky and were going to be executed by being dropped into a pit of
burning acid. Luckily, they were saved by Spikes son, Daniel. They
were able to escape Unicron with the help of Rodimus Prime. After Rodimus
Prime took over as leader of the Autobots, Jazzs role as a soldier
was downgraded. He didnt participate in any major missions and remained
on Cybertron until the Golden Age.
Comic
Biography: Jazz was a member of the original crew that
crash-landed on Earth aboard the Ark. He was awakened in 1984 along with
the other Autobots.Jazz didnt have much of a leadership role; he
was just a regular soldier. When the Autobots and Decepticons had their
first major confrontation, he didnt play a major role, and was eventually
knocked offline when Shockwave made his final attack. He was revived along
with most of the other Autobots by Ratchet. He stayed with the Autobots
after Optimus Prime was killed and Grimlock took over.He resented Grimlock
as a leader, like many other Autobots did, but he still followed him until
Optimus Prime returned to the Autobot ranks as a Powermaster. He was sent
to help try and stop Starscream when he had the power of the Underbase,
but Starscream made short work of him and he was knocked offline.
He was revived by Ratchet along with Grimlock and Bumblebee as a Classic
Pretender. The trio helped Ratchet stop Megatron from using Starscream
to destroy the Autobots and Decepticons, but it cost Ratchet his life.
Jazz, Grimlock and Bumblebee remained on Cybertron after that and worked
under the leadership of Emirate Xaron. The trio was sent into the depths
of Cybertron along with several Micromasters to look for the Decepticons
Mayhem Attack Squad. There they uncovered the sleeping god of the Transformers,
Primus. They fought the Mayhem Attack Squad in Primus presence,
and accidentally awakened him. Primus let out a scream that could be heard
across the universe, specifically by the Chaos Bringer Unicron. Unicron
was now coming to Cybertron. The Autobots realized that the only way to
stop Unicron was to find the Matrix of Leadership.Jazz was sent to find
it along with Grimlock and Bumblebee. While tracking a team of space explorers,
they found the Matrix, but it was tainted. Before they got to it, they
were attacked by Thunderwing and his group of Decepticons. They managed
to escape and began trying to track the Matrix again, but Jazz was suddenly
grabbed by a creature being controlled by the Matrix. Before they could
help him, Thunderwing showed up and took the Matrix for himself. He used
its power to knock out Jazz, Grimlock and Bumblebee. The Autobots rescued
them later and they were brought aboard the Ark. Jazz was among the Autobots
who surrendered to Scorponok and the Decepticons. He was then transported
by Primus to Cybertron where the Unicron Battle begun. Jazz played a small
role in fighting Unicron, but he managed to escape the battle with his
life. After the Unicron Battle, he worked under the leadership of Grimlock,
who led them to the planet Klo, where they were attacked and Jazz was
knocked offline right away. He was later awakened by the Last Autobot
and helped fight off the Decepticons. After Klo, Jazz played small roles
in fighting Jhiaxus and his Decepticons as well as the Swarm.
