How much is 4,980 yen in ? (Not that they won't cost more in the West anyhow, given that they'll be imported... )

Where I order them (i.e. Archonia), one BT toy costs a little less than € 60.- including (really fast) shipping (DPD).

What are the 'supermodes' (supermode Galvatron, Supermode Nightscream)?

Are they new toys or is just how they are called in japan?

Repaints, I pressume.
The Armada Powerlinx repaints were called "Supermode" in Japan`s Micron Densetsu line.

in case anyone's wondering what the Smokescreen 2004 edition will probably look like - check out the pics on subaru's website here:

(that's not the Alternator/BT, rather just what their 2004 WRC car will look like..)

If the 'supermode' is just a repaint it sucks. :wall: Never got the idea of slaping an other paintcoat on a toy and saying its another bot. Its like trying to tell Micheal Jackson is not the same person as he was 15 year ago.

If they are gonna try to rip of the collectors, then at least let them do some remoulding.

Hey - there's some nice repaints out there... Look at the Hot-Shot Powerlinx Repaint? He came out in a very sexy Hot-rod esque paintjob... Much nicer than the original bright yellow :)

I wouldn't mind picking up the Superlink version of Demolisher/Ironhide either - the paintjob looks very cool (and apparantly hasbro is bringing it over here too!)...

Going by this list, the only wave 1 Energon toys not getting a new paint job are Prime, Strongarm, and Skyblast, though it's most likely only a matter of time before they do too. The whole "repaint every single toy in the line" schtick takes away some of the respect I had for the Energon line.

The two new BT toys are up for preorder at HobbyLink Japan:

Smokescreen (WRC 2004 version) - August

Meister - September
