Link removed for the time being.

Those images are taken from the Japanese patent office website. You might find them at the usual place for this kind of stuff.

That's pretty funky.

very nice , although the original did a better job at hiding Alt mode features. Still a nice little mould.

Okay, I just checked back with another fan who is into IP law (with this particular field being his specialty) and he confirmed to me that this was an open publication by the Japanese patent office, so there should be no way Hasbro or anyone else could be harmed by these images being posted.

See the images without watermarks that pretend a non-existing exclusiveness here:

There's speculation that Takara filed those design patents so they could have more marketable IPs for the merger (usually designs are just copyrighted, not patented).

Or, to quote Phazer:

I suspect someone has just found out Takara has been submitting photos like this to the patents office in Japan for years - and it's only just occoured to anyone to look.

There's probably more interesting stuff there. Heck, maybe there's some more photos of old unreleased stuff too, like Neocron.

TFormers (or some random Chinese site they keep raping for images, I can't say for sure) have already found 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal (http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=album&album=5712&dispsize=800&start=0), Cybertron Quickmix (http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=album&album=5713&dispsize=800&start=0) (the unreleased Galaxy Force Blender, even though someone mislabeled all the images into saying "Moledive") and Cybertron Deluxe Unicron (http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=album&album=5714&dispsize=800&start=0), and I'm sure there's more where these babies came from.

This could very well change a lot about how we first learn of new toys.

The shuttle and the robot mode look fantastic, I think. I think the train mode is a little bleh, but this is an unpainted prototype, so I'm sure it'll look better once it's all gussied up.

Overall: Neo G1 might just get me back into buying Transformers on a regular basis.

Supreme awesomeness.

I like all of the modes personally. The train mode is the most lacking, due to the wings on the back but overall .

It looks a lot like Blast Off, doesn't it? Sort of RM Blast-Off.

I can't see the train mode... but it looks fine if it's a small, cheap toy :)

The shuttle and robot do indeed rock- But will he have that most vital of Astrotrain features- the huge phalic gun?

I'm probably going to get lynched for asking this, but...
why is Unicron a tank?

Cause Hasbro wants him to be. And they have an inablity to make a new line that doesn't have a Unicron.

Fiction-wise: Because he hasn't gained his full strength back yet.

It seems he is a small transformer but, anyone knows what size is it? ( compared to another transformer, for example... )

Gotcha. Perhaps they should work something into the storyline where he attacks Krispy Kream locations across the galaxy. That should bulk him up to the size of a planet in no time.

if you're talking about the big planet Unicron: he won't come out, he's an old unused BW Neo mold

Unicron as a tank, which I should have been more precise in my statement, isn't shabby. Never thought it would work out that well, but it did. :D
