..."I noticed you changed the picture" feedback.

OK choice, a bit too ad-bass wannabe (flames behind the back and eyes glowing) to my taste, but still ok. On more general note, I really wish they stopped using that "eyes glowing photoshop effect" technique in comics.

Yeah, it's the thing I like least about Josh's colouring -- it's total nonsense because eyes don't work that way (hundreds of years ago, when people thought that eyes sent out beams of light/vision, it'd be understandable...)

Personally, I think TFs look a lot more realistic with "flat" eyes... as you say, no-one else in the damn comics has glowing eyes, and they wouldn't be able to see if their "eyes" were reflecting all the light... like the rubsign, it's something that looks good on toys, but should stay there...

What Photoshop gives with one hand, it takes with the other.

*looks at own, effects-heavy Doctor Who sleeves done on PS*

I'm everything that's wrong with the world :(

That's what irritates me as well, not making sense I mean. It'd be ok if it was used for effect, for example analogy to anger.

It doesn't help that I associate glowing eyes to DW. :o

I try and see it as a cat's eye style reflect, more than a glow.

Emphasis on try...

Who is the new guy? From Stormbringer mini-series?

Glowing eyes effect seems to get bigger all the time? :( Time to start petition on IDW message board?

That's Roadbuster.

Roadbuster.

& I don't think it's so much 'glowing eyes effect' as flare from the enourmous gun he's wielding, then take into account it's not really eyes as it is visor... ;)

Cheers.

Flare reflecting from the visor? A bit farfetched, eh? ;)

Anyway, "glowing eyes" or "glowing (evil) Grand Vizier" effect. What's the difference? :glance:

Nightbeat
Raiz

Wouldn't mind seeing actual story pages from Raiz in IDW continuity. His work on early Armada issues is propably the best art from Dreamwave (puttup! *) era.

*Been reading Marvel UK issues lately... :glance:

It's from the game rather than the movie itself.

The original screenshot has noticeable pixelation, being a true in-game shot rather than a cutscene. One's been resized using a Lanczos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lanczos_resampling) algorithm, the other with an algorithm that blurs stuff, probably something bilinear or bicubic.

I prefer accuracy to slick...

(Of course, both are fed through slight JPEG compression, which introduces artefacts.)

It's a funky radiosity render. Just as a static image, some of the anti-aliasing and funny polygon collision glitches stare out at me... help ! I'm sliding into the nether regions of geek !

Far from being able to discern differences between the two versions, I would've thought this was a picture of a toy if I hadn't read otherwise...

It is a cool pic, but let me bid a fond farewell to the prior picture, the beat up, smoking-headed, "I've had a really bad night" looking IDW Optimus Prime. 'Twas also neat. :)
