I reckon the icon is great for "fanfic" in the creative section. Outside of that, I see it as an essay or some other generally long-winded, structured post.

P.S. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/95_theses ?

I've always used it for "information"...

Yeah, "readme" stuff.

Though I prefer the yellow lightbulb against this backing colour.

^this one ? I took that as a brainwave, eureka thing...

That said, I use http://tfarchive.com/ubb/icons/icon11.gif for that too.

Lightbulb = "hey, here's an idea" (sometimes serious, sometimes snarky)

Red face = "oooooooh" (embarassment/awe/joculation)

Since we're on the subject, in what instances should http://www.tfarchive.com/ubb/icons/icon2.gif be used? I've never felt the need to mark my posts with an arrow but when it happens I'd like to use in a correct manner.

I take it to mean "look at this" and sometimes use it to mark out particular threads (eg, in the comics forum.)

In the UBB age, the little notepad thingie was the default post icon. I know that much... I never really use it anymore, myself.

I miss the UBB...
