Also of interest {Though it doesn't specifically mention the Transformers game}

For his part, the youthful-looking Kassoy said that he felt that more than any other, role-playing games are the most promising--and untapped--genre for film-game crossovers. His justification was that while films often elicit an emotional response so deep that people will shed tears, the main emotion action games--the most common fodder for big-screen adaptations--bring is merely shallow thrills. "I think the potential is there to have a game that makes you cry when your character dies," he said, speaking of film-inspired RPGs.
So the Transformers game may well be an RPG...

"day and date" release means it will suck like the rest of the movie tie in games.

One year isnt a long time to make a game.

An RPG with free control of your character's attacks like in full metal alchemist or Kingdom Hearts would kick ass.

Activision also had a helping hand in Neverwinter Nights 2 for everyone's info, and I have heard nothing BUT good reports on it and Game Informer magazine gives it highly good marks (NWN 2). I can't wait to see how this Transformers game turns out. Don't diss it till it has been fully reviewed, demoed, and brought out to the general public. It could be the best game of our lifetime (besides Final Fantasy 11 Online)).

If it's an RPG then I'm going to try and remain optimistic. As long as it doesn't have controls like Transformers: Convoy No Nazo.

nah i recon it will be much more like "Transformers Tataki" for the ps2.

DCJosh 2006-07-06 04:25 PM

man

an action/rpg like their X-Men Legends series would be sooooooo freakin awesome

[and yeah. Activision did those games. YESSSS.]

anyways, i would die 3 times over if we got a TF style X-Men Legends type of game
