Masterpiece Megatron: First pics of that evil orange plug!

THAT is what everyone's been so worried about?

Very promising news. I hope this means BBTS's plug will be similarly as mundane.

Sir Auros 2007-04-02 11:46 PM

Yeah, I might consider dropping that kind of money for a decent G1 style Megatron if that's the plug BBTS has. I'd still rather hold out for a US release, but I guess I'd better not hold my breath?

Jaynz 2007-04-02 11:48 PM

Well, MY childhood has just been raped!

Rhodes 2007-04-03 12:02 AM

Be awere, that plug is evil...pure yellow Evil....

SenahBirdR 2007-04-03 02:17 AM

Wow.... I'm surprised that even flies for compliance in the toy regulations! I imagine a US release will be much more "true" to the spirit of the regulation. Does make me consider though...

Has there ever been a reissue of Shockwave? If so I'd love to have both and go cosplaying as Starscream or Soundwave dual wielding the bastards! Though its not a bad idea just going with Megs

zigzagger 2007-04-03 06:12 AM

To all you worrisome Meg-fans, I say unto thee...

Jaynz 2007-04-03 06:21 AM

Takara doesn't have the rights to Shockwave's original design.. so.. no.

Is it Toybox that has it? I can't remember now...

ColdBain 2007-04-03 06:22 AM

It's just a freaking plug! AND, it looks like it is removeable as well! What on earth is going on? All this worry, all this debate, all this pain and anguish... over a removeable yellow plug?

It's as if collector's have the ability to made their toys 'law regulated' at their own pleasure. I can just imagine US collectors now, spotting a cop out the window:
"Quick! Get the plug, the Police are here!"

As stated before, what an anti-climax

Denyer 2007-04-03 06:26 AM

This doesn't, as such, meet regulations. However the point of the thing is to get stuff into the country, and polite nods to regulations are probably what's wanted.

SenahBirdR 2007-04-03 08:24 AM

Well. As I read a few minutes later there is going to be 6" die cast Shockwave by Hasbro. If it is a alien gun Shockwave, I never kept up on who got to converted to what in new stuff, likely a bit on the small size.

Agreed this is just a nods to regulations to get things in and not really worry about it. FIgures the more fuss we put up about something the less impacting it is.

Tetsuro 2007-04-03 10:45 AM

What an anti-climax...

Clogs 2007-04-03 02:11 PM

After all that fuss - that's it? Interesting that customs would open the box to check the yellow er... cap is in place, so earning their keep and getting that feelgood factor at having identified the item as not a rogue robot gun-changer.

Perhaps, somewhere, someone is going he-he-he-he and presenting his bow-fingers to the authorities.

RID Scourge 2007-04-03 02:26 PM

:( Guess there's no discounted Megs for me. Oh wells.

lars573 2007-04-03 03:47 PM

Meh I'll be getting mine from a Canadian online toy store. Which means they got Megs, unaltered, through customs already.

Considering that I've NEVER serious said that about anything? Yeah, it is. :)

Tetsuro 2007-04-03 07:42 PM

But this is just the HLJ effort - we are yet to see how other stores, such as BBTS, are planning to do it.
