All those rumors are based on my original report. Anything else is entirely made up on the spot.

It will actually be called "Spinimy" and come in a wide assortment of colours and have a random insignia (either Autobot or Decepticon).

You will not know what colour/allegiance your version is until you get it home.

It appears not:

He just didn't get or didn't read the writers' notes.

Even if he did come up with the idea, the script editor (who presumiably had at least glanced at the series bible at some point ), clearly thought Glutt's concept was better, or he'd have told him to change it...

Or simply didn't care.

The issue of continuity was obviously low on their list of priorities.

Along with plots that didn't include "destructo-rays," characterization, error-free animation, etc . . .

Come to think of it, the list probably looked like this:

1. Sell toys
2. Sell more toys
3. Sell even more toys
4. Keep selling toys
5. No toys to sell right now, just throw one together to keep the little scamps happy
6. Sell this week's toy
7. Sell a few more
8. Guess what
9. Sell you know what
10. Keep those 20 minute commercials coming

I'm sure someone else has mentioned it, but I think this may be Beachcomber:

http://www.tfu.info/1985/Autobot/Bea...eachcomber.htm

Look at the torso design markings, they're similar to the more detailed Honda alternator:

http://tabman.bei.t-online.de/honda_english.html

Final "proof": go to the Honda s2000 webpage and the first image you'll see is a SILVERY BLUE version. That would go exelent with Beachcomber's classical colors!

I hope I'm right about this one! Beachcomber was one of my first TF's so I'm attached to this one. I was thrilled when he finally appeared on the cartoon. I also like his personality from the profiles.

Final note- the head does look more squarish than Beachcomber's original head- but it's still close enough, or it may even be slightly remolded before he is released.

I thought you people would have learned from the Swindle/Trailbreaker incident...

Yeah, indeed, however, it's very likely that at some point we'll see a trailbreaker repaint (and also one of Sunstreaker from Dead end)...

(And that's something I look forward too! Two faves I never had as kid!)

...so I still hope and think this mold is based on Beachcomber. Also they tend to make autobots first, so I rather think this will get remolded to a decepticon later ...maybe another stunticon in Windcharger's body?

..y'know, when I first saw the Honda I wasn't all that thrilled...it looked so plain.. but if it's finally released as Beachcomber I think it'll be my fave alternator so far!

(Well, I haven't actully purchased any yet, but soon I'll go to London for some shopping..)

I was rather referring to the bottom part of the pic I posted. People claimed it was Beachcomber, even though it looked nothing like Beachcomber. Walky proved them wrong by bringing up the "Trailbreaker" evidence.

Where exactly does the Honda's head look like Beachcomber's?

Ok, gotcha. I still think the body markings are reminecent of Beachcomber, though...

...as for the head, yeah, the only similarity is the visor. But maybe it'll be changed before the release? And I just don't think it's that different. Maybe they wanted a cooler head for him...

well, we'll all know soon enough!

It's kind of tough to make out, but that would make some sense.

Or it might be Wind Cougar, Battle Ravage's nephew from out of state.

Anyone else think that Hasbro will have to be careful not to saturate the market with Alternators?

Most likely. But then, that's a danger whenever a toyline takes off.

It really depends on how many repaints they start selling. As it is now, I don't think they've overextended and I'd imagine many fans would be collecting one of each mold at the very least.

i would liek to get one of each mold.. particulary becuase of the detail level put into the cars.. when i will be able to have one of each mold is a different story..

i might pass on the S2000 mainly becuase i am not a big fan of the car its self..
