Remember that the packaging and marketing for the toys were made months ago, and Bay was supposed to fix the dialog mentioning Brawl's name before release in the final editing pass (which was only the early part of JUNE, remember)... he didn't.

At that point, too late to 'fix' anything.

Kinda petty, really.
The movie BELONGS to Bay. If he wanted, he could have called Optimus Prime "Flamestar" and Megatron "Slicesteel", and Hasbro couldn't have done anything about it.

Not quite, as there are some complicated legalities around the movie in relation to the franchise. Hasbro has rights for approval, I believe, but once the movie's DONE, not much to do really, particularly if it seems to be a minor point. (Let's face it, it's not like Brawlistator was a CHARACTER.. and he's not a long term worry for obvious reasons).

But if you don't think Bay's a petty man.. who got top billing in this film again? :P

Not bad, although I'm surprised none of his damage is reflected in his vehicle mode.

I am considering getting this toy for rarity sales years down the road, but really the Deluxe Jazz toy is a lackluster mold.

The "battle damage" is poorly done and the new weapon is no better than the awkward, no place to store it, weapon that came with the first edition of Deluxe Jazz.

Jazz deserves better and I think Fast Action Battler Jazz rivals Deluxe Jazz in design.

The thing of it is, his name's only Devastator half the time. If I recall, he's referred to by name only twice, once in Cyberspeak with subtitles calling him Devastator, once when one of the autobots calls him "Decepticon Brawl". I'd imagine the subtitling was just an oversight and will most likely be fixed on the DVD.

Don Murphy himself says Bay deserves top billing on the film. So, who am I to argue?

As for Autobots calling Brawl out by name...I don't remember that.

You are BRIMSTONE! The mighty!

But, still, there are few directors who take billing above the stars of the movie, and Bay just ain't anywhere in that league.

Yeah the Jazz mold isn't quite up to par and it sucks because Jazz has always been my personal fav... I'm still going to get it anyway and probably the Robot Replica Jazz for the good bot look even though it does'nt transform.

Well, I feel better. The gun looked different on the back of the Dropkick packaging, and it looked better than the one he was originally packaged with. This one wasn't. Wasn't going to get it, for the sake of a new gun, and now I know I'm really not missing anything.

Nice.

Personally, I like the Lucas approach and not have any credits at the beginning of the movie (at least with Star Wars, not sure about others).

I will say though, I think it says something that he took a 30% pay cut to film this movie where he wanted. That says a lot about his belief in the movie, I think.

Nightbeat: -looking at what appears to be his "Real Gear" incarnation- "Sweet Drokking Jovus...... somebody needs to pay for this travesty....."

Minerva: -picking the packaging up. "Does it actually work as an MP3 player?"
