Shout-out to Mastermind Creations for waiting till the week before Sphinx comes out before saying "oh yeah we're doing another version in a slightly lighter 'more cartoon accurate' blue, but it's not as if most people have pre-ordered already so this can totally influence your buying decision".

Head-desk.

[EDIT] I'm also fairly certain that the darker blue is more accurate to the toon, but hey ho.

According to original prototype image (attached) it's in line with MP-10.

FT did a similar thing with Sever. It's just not worth pre-ordering anymore.

Nifty. It's a shame it isn't smaller from my point of view, but good to see designers not afraid to go with hard lines and not overcomplicate with kibble.

Pictures of the probable final product for Hulkie, a Legends-sized Devastator.

It takes a few liberties, but I like how Devastator's forearms are now incorporated into Scavenger and Bonecrusher instead of being separate pieces.

The purple chest piece looks bad but I'd pick that up for $40 at a ToysRus. It's not going to be that cheap but if it was I'd buy it.

119.99 GBP at Kapow.

It's not of a high enough quality design-wise for me to spend that kind of money. They are Legends sized, and look Legends quality, unlike some of the better small figures on the market.

Granted, the combined mode looks pretty cool.

I thought that at first too until I realized that the chest place is made from Hook's crane arm. Like the forearms incorporated into scavenger and bone crusher, it's very... efficient. I like it for what it is, but the price is too much as you say.

How long before Third Party Devastators inherit the Earth? I think we've enough in different sizes to do Russian dolls out of them now.

I want a third party kit that allows me to combine all the extant third party Devastators to form one huge, green monstrosity of a gestalt, the mighty...

(not another) 'KING DEVASTATOR!

And I fully expect the official Hasbro versions are hollow enough to allow that.

Is there any word on when we can expect these TFC Hades figures to start releasing?

Definitely like the look of that compared to the KFC version.

New Toyworld constructicons testshots

God do these look B!TCHING or what?

I'm mighty tempted to get them, but have severe reservations about how on earth a 20inches, die-cast, highly articulated combiner made of 6 different bots will stand.

Furthermore, images of Maketoys Blades/Katana. Not as enthused with the set as I was...last year, was it, but still interesting to see them through.

If by "bitching" you mean "made from crinkle-cut crisps" then yes.

Was there some law passed while I was out of the fandom that bars companies from having flat surfaces on stuff or something?

I think there's a polarizing effect---TT goes for smooth, flat, retro-cartoon look-alike surfaces [and often get chastised for extra details] and most 3p companies feel the need to overcompensate on details.

I actually like this---for the fans of detail and mechanical lines on figures that don't want movie figures/designs for that.
