Post by Nevermore »

As originally reported by TFormers:
According to Hasbro UK, they won't be releasing anymore of the Alternators range in the UK, they released Smokescreen had plans to release Sideswipe but no retailers wanted to sell them so they have been dropped from being released.
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

Hasbro Netherlands also said they won't be releasing any other Alternators than Smokescreen.

Just another sign that UK collectors are slowly but surely being alienated by Hasbro UK.

We're being screwed by Hasbro UK

No change there then

Surely it's not Hasbro's fault if they can't get any shops to sell alternators? At least they tried to get Sideswipe released... What are they supposed to do, send out door to door salesmen?

Some of the specialist shops do sell Bineltech (Nostalgia and Comics in Birmingham had Hound and Streak last time I looked), but if you prefer the plastic you'll have to make do with online purchases:(

Really? Where are you then? That isn't a cunning atempt to become your stalker, its just that Brums Forbiden Planet got rid of their TF wall a few mounths ago, leaving the small selection in Nostalgia (who are owned by FP but charge different prices...) as the only fairly local (1 hour train ride) shop to stock the none Uk stuff...

Glasgow Scotland.

Our FP had all of em but smokescreen sold out too fast for me to get one. 'Tis where I could Swipe, Hound and Streak though. Last time I checked they still had plenty of Hounds and Streaks... £40 each. They've also got some Superlink stuff just mainly Tidal Wave and Scorponok, the reissues and WSTF 2. They also do the comics so they're pretty good all round.

A1's also got a wee bit. They have some more Energon and Universe but none of the rest. Prices are kind of sky high since the deluxes(if thats like Starscream and Hot Shot if not well correct me) and the Universe stuff are £15 each. And others from £30 to £50. They do the comics too but thats that

Update from TFW 2005:
I work for Argos Retail in the uk.
We are getting in the silverstreak Alternator. Also our computers tell us that other Alternators will follow under the same number.

We have also energon megaton/prime under the same cat number and price and unicron/omega under the same cat number and price.

The new Catalogue is out next Saturday where these items are pictured.
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

Argos has sold out of Alternators each time they've come in, generally within days, so I doubt they plan to drop them...

They doubtless have the option of dealing directly with Hasbro in the US, I should add—it's likely TRU UK aren't keen on TF adjunct lines such as Alternators because the (overpriced to the max) 'G1' reissues haven't sold past the Optimus and Hot Rod wave.

Well, if nothing else this thread got me to buy Hound and Streak from Nostalgia today... Though it's sods law that I find out Argos will eventualy have them in at half the price :wall:

EDIT:

Just been in our Argos, it's Silverstreak rather than Sideswipe. The Energon figures are: Prime, Megs, Unicron, Tidelwave, Omega Supreme, various of the combining Autobots (the picture was of Hot Shot, but "Styles may vary"), and Omega Supreme.

Annoyingly, the only two I wanted, Megs and Omega, weren't in stock:(
