The new He-Man toys an cartoon.

Post by Ulticron »

I'm actually happy bout the new He-Man toys. I was never a big fan as a child, but i had some of the stuff. I'm curious about the cartoon whether they'll butcher it or not, although from memory and the cartoons i DLed of the old He-Man it'd have to be an improvement *L*. So what's ure take on the new He-Man?

The new cartoon is great. I watched/taped the 90 minute movie thingy that they had on Cartoon Network last Friday, and it was pretty sweet. I think we have a new Beast Wars here (minus the schism amongst fans for the changes to the series, cuz this one's true to the original), because it's well-written and holy sh*t they actually have violence. My god, cartoon characters hitting and shooting at eachother, hot diggity damn.

I downloaded it because of curiosity. Not bad, definitely better than the old cartoon. No nitpicking or schisms because it´s true to original? Go read he-man.org forums and count the posts complaining that Gringer doesn´t talk and Sorceress looks wrong. :D
*kid talking in me* Me want Tri-Klops, otherwise I don´t care about the new toys. Maybe Hordak if they release one.

I think it's better that Cringer doesn't talk, he could easily become a new Snarf if they weren't careful.

I´m actually interested in the fan response to the reboot cartoon. Mostly because of the similar situations with TF in the 80´s and the different ways of re-intorducing it to wider audience (BW-reboot cartoon based on the original).

Is Allan Oppenheimer reprising his role as Skeletor?

Well, I watched the first episode today and Skeletor does not sound like Alan Oppenheimer.

Voice talents I recognized include: Cam Clarke (Prince Adam), Gary Chalk (Man at Arms) and possibly Scott McNeil in some of the minor evil roles.

After which, I watched Armada and noted Gary Chalk in the role of Optimus Prime; is David Kaye providing the voice for Megatron? If so, Scott McNeil can't be too far behind.

I saw it, and including the voices mentioned, there were several others. Paul and Michael Dobson (Who worked on Beast Machines and Armada) did voices, Kathleen Barr (BM Botanica) did the voice of Evil-Lyn, and Scott McNeil does do a voice. He's Mer-Man. And I swear to god that he sounds like Waspinator in one scene.

I loved it. Even better than the original show. I was a little disapointed that Cringer couldn't talk.

The fact that they gave an origin to most of the characters and the reasons why Adam became He-Man was great. They didn't do that in the original show. The only origin story that I remember from the Original show was when they introduced Man-E-Faces.

Yeah, Snarf definately carried the show.

From what i heard, there arent any current plans to bring back She-Ra, but there is supposed to be one of the She-Ra character making an appearance in the new toon. It's presumed it'll be Hordak.

Yeah He-man was good, i have not seen the cartoon yet but i heard from a few friends that use to like it that it was good.

PS. Cringer kicked ass back in the good ol'days.

Mer-Man will be Scott McNeil's new Waspinator, I am certain.

And whoever is the new Skeletor is paying Alan Oppenheimer homage by emulating some of the vocal mannerisms (same whiny voice and quirky humour).

Stratos is an homage to Sean Connery.

Wouldn't it be amusing is McNeil plays Buzz-Off, and is able to bring Waspinator's speech pattern into the character?

I love the new cartoon, I love the toys, and I'll probably love the comic too. This is an 80's property that is doing things right!

One question: what's up with the Evil Lyn father thing?

That is an awesome idea, Quick Switch. Wonder if Hordak and the rest of the Horde are gonna appear.....

And there are no plans for She-Ra to be ressurected. ToYFare got it straight from the Four Horsemen.

EVERYTHING Merman says sounds like Waspinator. I love the voice talent except for Cam Clarke...I hate him. See the other He-Man thread for the details...
