Shows that Hasbro have some clear ideas about character design even if no-one else does...

Not really - it's just the Pallisades Dreamwave-model Optimus Prime statue, blown up to big ol' proportions.

It's an indication of where they see brand recognition entering into things; after all, they do have a Masterpiece design they can get into shops again, and the character has a very high recognition amongst general populations. I doubt we'll see many changes to Prime in a film.

The fact that the insignias for each faction is right on point and they used the original font for the title gives me high hopes for this movie.

I love the fact that the name is just like from the original movie.

Unless that's supposed to be a miscolored G2 Laser Prime, it looks nothing like Optimus.

I don't like Transformers, that don't look like being capable of transforming.

I'd sacrifice the humanoid look in favour of transforming mechanics, rather than sacrificing transforming mechanics in favour of a more humanoid appearance.

I'm hoping the movie TF's aren't going to look like that Mighty Morphin' Prime statue...
