Reissues now available in Toys R Us UK.

Post by Sixswitch »

Well, they are out in the Cardiff Toys R Us so I assume they're out everywhere. The ones I saw are:

Ultra Magnus: £19.99
Optimus Prime: £19.99
Starscream: £27.99
Rodimus Major: £9.99

Which is nice.

Just thought I'd pass this news on to the rest of you UKers.

Word, that's pretty sweet that you got Starscream along with the rest of them.

Aye, that's what I thought. Tis weird. Maybe my eyes were decieving me, or maybe it was a misprint... Alternatively, TRU are just weird.

Yeh... though the American price went up by about the same percentage, so maybe they're no choice... [though again the UK stuff is £ to the $, pretty much...]... it's just odd for TRU UK to accentuate this by putting him in the same range as the others, who are actually fairly reasonably priced for UK items... unless they want to get it out before the Takara reissue starts filtering into Forbidden Planets?

Yes they are. I think they're Toys R Us exclusives, so check out your nearest one.

Personally I'd get an Armada supercon instead, but if you don't like Armada, then go for it. I was considering Hot Rod, but I got Armada Cyclonus instead. Which seems a good choice to me ;)

I mean I don't think Hot Rod is all that great, I never had him as a child, but the Armada Starscream looks sweet

I picked up Oppy and Hot Rod the other day, already have Starscream and Magnus, now maybe my memory is playing tricks on me but Oppy seems different, I'm sure his gun, the trailer missles and his smoke stacks were different when I first had him as a kid?

Getaway the houdini of the transformers universe nobody can defeat him......except Rodimus Prime, Cyclonus, Starscream, Deathbringer, Thunderwing, Dreadwing........

Yarrrrr.

In the Hasbro reissues, the smokestacks are shorter and the missiles are longer.

Dunno about the gun, but here's the one wot came with the original:

Search for 'Rodimus Major' on eBay... you won't pay much more for one than if toysrus.co.uk had stock left...

A tenner for Rodimus Major. Not bad...

Well, if you assume that you'd pay something daft on shipping ordering from toysrus.co.uk on-line, then £10 + £5 mark-up + £1.50 p&p isn't bad value.

Memo to self: resist temptation to drill hand-hole for Firebolt... I've had him for years sans Hot Rod... I mean, I rationally know that the mould isn't that great; this is about as nostalgic as I get when it comes to TFs...

Your best bet would to be wait until the scalpers inevitably go OTT, flood ebay and they go for a fiver, pick up a spare one and then do your drilling ;)

Either that or keep an eye on Transrepro for a conversion kit :)

Never been keen on having 'spares' around, except for trade reasons...
