Worst Movie Remake Of A TV Show In The World Ever?
Inspired by siting through The Avengers again the other week (could have been the best movie ever if they'd just put Jim Broadbent on screen for two hours)- Which films take a greta format and completely and utterly screw it up in all ways? My personal vote goes for Thunderbirds, which is about as entertaining as Gary Glitters home movies.
Movies that are continuations of a TV show rather than remakes don't count (so no votes for any of the Star Trek films, nor The X-Files or, if you're a sick puppy, Serenity).

Well, between you and me, I just wanted to see how may automaticly went for option 9 sight unseen...
The annoying thing about The Avengers is there is a good movie trying to get out from under the awful performances by the three leads. All that gorgous production design, some fine charecter actors (all wasted) and that great fake village bit from The New Avengers... But bad casting and hacking half an hour of bits that explain the plot out ruin it.

Matt Labanc(misspelled his name because I really didn't care enough to double check) action hero, Yah right. Lost in space gets my vote. Bland actors, forgetable story, Gary Oldman who is an excellent actor could not save this film with an army of other good actors. The Writing was just that bad. ANd My writing is propably full of little errors, I just cared so little about it that I did not bother to even reread it.

You realise you've set yourself up for a "Don't worry, we didn't even read it once" joke?
Joey was actually fairly good in LIS, as was Heather's cat suit thingey. The problem was the plot was completely rubish...

The avengers
I voted for the Avengers becouse that show was cool.
When I saw that movie I nearly droped dead from shock at how awfull it was.
Every actor in that movie was miscast.

I've never seen the show but the film...I ranted about it in a film thread a few months back. I am not exaggerating; I would only use this phrase if I meant it...IT IS THE WORST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN AND WILL EVER SEE. Funnily enough I only went to see it because of the aforementioned actor's name

Can I cast a vote for Mission Impossible, just on the basis of it having Teh Cruisemeister General in it?
I saw a trailer for MI3. I note how JJ Abrams has basically put Sark in it, but cast Paul Bettany by mistake...
That would be the Bernie Mac who's purportedly attached to the new TF movie?

I was going to watch DOH (before they casted for it) once I found out that Jessica Simpson was going to be playing Daisy it competely turned me off. I was so excited and amped but that casting killed it quick. The movie bombed, Daisy must be rolling in her grave.

I dunno, my wife and I kinda liked Bewitched. But I'd have to cast my vote for all the above except for the TF movie. It hasn't even come out yet and people are saying it's awful. That's like everyone saying the new Bond sux. We're aren't even giving it a chance. Megatron may not be a gun in the movie, but he's been so many other things that I think we can forgive that. But I digress, don't want to derail the thread.
Word is though, I heard there may be a Knight Rider movie soon. And Charlie's Angels royally sucked.

The [Charlies Angels[/I] films are a continuation of the TV show but with new Angels- Not a remake. One of the TV charecters was even in the sequel- not to mention photo's on the walls of Charlies HQ of the rest of them, same actor playing Charlie and even the same building on the studio lot used for the exteriors of his building...
Mission Impossible is also quite likely to be a continuation of the original show, though that's harder to pin down for sure due to the recasting of Jim Phelps with John Voight. Still, the final twist of who's behind it all in the first film only has any impact if it's meant to be the same guy we saw on TV every week as the hero for six years...
Is it wrong to know that much about Charlies Angels?

Wouldn't Scooby Doo also be a continuation then? Scrappy's big now, gang gets back together after they split some time before...
Nope, as Daph was now no longer hot but a skiny bit with a flat nose. Such a huge change in the format can not be reconciled between the two continuities.
Or in an attempt to be more serious- In a continuation of the TV show the Scooby Gang would all be pushing 50 wouldn't they?
No, that isn't more serious is it? Ah well.
