I like the name too. Reminds me of Rhinox, "Slag this or slag that".
I'd like to see a convention in Savannah, GA as well, but the money it would take to get it going, not really sure this area could support a convention like that. Now Atlanta, on the other hand, would be a pretty large venue.
How about you bring Slag-a-Con down to the South East next year?

Yo, it's Slag-a-con every day of the week here at Slag towers in beautiful Cambridge if you fancy it, Dalek.
BYOMB.

"It's not until you're an adult you appreciate how awesome a dog is. Your dreams start dying, somebody cheats on you, bankers f*** up your pension. Then you come home and that dog's looking at you and he's like, 'Dude, you're awesome!'” - Bill Burr
“I re-invented my image so many times that I'm in denial that I was originally an overweight Korean woman.” - David Bowie
I'm afraid me and the BF had a little giggle at that- I would place our mental ages at about twelve years old, if it's any consolation. But all the best to you on your conventioneering endeavour, I hope it turns out well.
This is my signature. My wasted space. My little corner. You can't have it. It's mine. I can write whatever I want. And I have!
I have family that lives in Tallahassee, Fl. Maybe, I could hold it there once we see how it goes this year.Savannahtron wrote:I like the name too. Reminds me of Rhinox, "Slag this or slag that".

Since the Slagacon website is down currently, I thought I would give you all some information on the convention. Slagacon is my answer to the Mid-west's drought of TF conventions. Botcon was founded by two people from Indiana. I guess you might say Indiana was pampered to some great conventions. The last two years and even before that, I have not been able to go to Botcon, so I decided to have my own. My goal with Slagacon is to make a convention that is not only fun and enjoyable but also affordable. The prices for Slagacon are very reasonable. It is free to kids 10 and under, 11 to 15 years old is only $1.00 and anyone 16 or older is only $2.00. We are going to have a dealer's room and six different contests. These contests include: Art, Kitbash, Costume; G1 knowledge, Timed Combiner Assembly as well as a TF karaoke contest. These contests do cost a little extra $3.00 per entrant per event. Every attendee will be able to place their votes on the art, kitbash and costume contest. We will also be giving away door prizes every 30 minutes. Just a little info and there will be more info to come as the convention draws closer.
