Transformers Darwinism
Inspired by something I thought of for the RPG
Given that the transformers have been fighting a war for millions of years you would tend to think those who would be left would be the brightest and the best either that or very Lucky. Obviously the vagaries of the writers means that some survived till when we were introduced to them who wouldn't normally have made it so far.
My first nominations for the Darwin award (or how did they survive so far) is
1)Slapdash (too careless to have survived.)
2) Quickmix (carrying around a drum of toxic chemicals that always needs to rotate all the time , all it takes is one stray sho tand its KABOOM.)
3) Beachcomber (either mental breakdown or ambushed on one of his solitary trips.)
Please free to make nominations or refute anything you might think to be untrue or based on suspect logic.

Becasue he's a survival specialist , he's been living in a hostile environment surrounded by things with sharp teeth and laser beams for umpteen years without so much as a scratch. He's shown more survivability than most of the Autobots put together, tough, crazy and orange, he's the Rutger Hauer of Autobots!
On topic.
Silverbolt, scared of heights? Hmm good job!
Computron, the cleverest yet slowest Autobot in the world. I love the idea of Computron that while he's busy thinking about the next four million variables crucial to finding his optimum attack route, the Decepticons just shoot a big missile at him.
I just like the idea of him being crippled by his own super intelligence.

Ramjet dead from head injuries
Thrust dead from making so much noise that the Autobots had time to draft in 2 AA battalions the Wreckers and the Dinobots before he arrived.
Dirge on the other hand probably survived as long as he kept on top of his fear and is now pursuing a career as a sucessful Blues and Country and Western singer where his talents are greatly appreciated.

I'd be more inclined to say the Moglie of the Transformers, not Rutger Haur. Wheelie is a kid after all. I definately agree with everything else though. That kid is a born survivor.Originally posted by Wildrider

I'm not sure "survival of the fittest" would work in most discussions of Canon.
I do note, however, that all transformers we see are surprisingly lucky ... no matter how incompetent or mentally challenged they may be.
I mean, people are shooting all over the place with nary a hit. Being machines it can't be that they are all just lousey shots, so clearly there must be something of a serendipity at work here (I do offer another explanation in my own TF fic, but it isn't canon).
Thus I would say that the TF's most ripe to die are those who are somehow luckless.
Surprisingly, I'd say that would be both Optimus Prime and Megatron.
I mean, here they are, two powerful and capable leaders, and look at the bunch of whiney, mentally challenged and ... um ... "special" warriors they end up surrounded by.
If that isn't evidince of bad luck, I don't know what is.

Rutger usually dies at the end though doesn't he (OK, he didn't in Batman Begins, but I'll bet he had a heart attack during the credits).
Wheelie is more of a man than we will ever be.Wheelie is a kid after all.
Megatron being able to create huge anti-matter explosions out of his eyes. Both times he tried to use it he was only saved from dying as well by chance...

"Now, under no circumstances must we tell Shockwave that we're responsible for killing him in the future."
"Right. Got it."
"Yes? Good. Because if we let him know that we're responsible for his death in the future, who knows what'll happen."
"I understand. Under no circumstances do we let him find out."
"Right. Glad we got that sorted."
"Oh, hi Shockwave - you'll never guess what!"
THAT's Darwinism.

Was there even a single post-Movie TF who wasn't some sort of obsessive nutcase? They've all got some sort of crippling syndrome...
I don't think Springer had a crippling syndrome, and neither did Kupp, except he was afraid of the monster on that one planet. Blurr's speach isn't crippling, just annoying. What is Wreck-Gar's?

All the ones you've cited there are Movie characters, not post-Movie.
Sorry, I assumed movie characters counted as post- movie characters, since they killed off most of the originals, were the ones in the post movie stories. it was not stated that he was referring to NEW characters created AFTER the movie. he just said characters post-movie.
So give some examples of characters of post-movie characters? Seasons 3 and 4 are the ones I have had a hard time finding on ebay, so I have not been able to watch very many of those episodes.
