Car Robot Special Brave Max

Post by Scourge »

Anybody know what's up with this Brave Maximus? He's got some guns and . . . Grommet? Gasket? I never knew which was which . . . But does anyone know any details about this special? It looks pretty sweet!

Car Robots is the series that is currently being translated as robots in disguise. So far, Brave Maximus is the only cartoon character in that line whose release in the US has not been confirmed. I hope that they do release him, and that black fire convoy. Black fire convoy is one of the most beatiful renditions of convoy that I've ever seen.

I would say they are the prototype pics, as the guns and Cog aren't very matching in coulour to Brave Max. Either that, or someone made there own, but I doubt that due to the lack of stickers on Brave Max.

When Brave was first released in Japan, there was a competition to win him, but I'm not sure how many of the "Compitition Max" there were. He came with all the origional US Fortress Max accessories, and a LARGE playmat with roads and train tracks and such (part of which is on the reverse of the standard releases instructions.)

Yeah, I'm guessing you're on the right track with the competition theory. This guy has TONS of sweet special TF toys on his site, and it's all legit. I know that SOME of the recolors on the site are real, anyway, becuase I've seen them in officail Car Robot books. Plus, the box this toy apparently came in (at the bottom) has the official stamp. How sweet would it be to get one's hands on that toy? . . . how expensive?

You think Black Fire Convoy was just randomly inserted in caes in Japan, since his box is just a normal one? That Megs looks like Mechagodzilla.

The black Fire Convoy was a convention exclusinve . . . I don't remember all of the details, but he was produced in small numbers and sold in some Japanese convention or another. How cool is he? (He's got his own page: http://www1.sphere.ne.jp/nekotom/bw299.html )
