And the comedy 'metal' band of the year so far are...
... Good Charlotte!
Oh, schoolboys, your acerbic comments on the lifestyles of celebrities as so cutting my ears bled after hearing your song! Your middleclass bearing and designer hoodies are really the true rock 'n' roll lifestyle! I'm glad you piad back your mums for sewing on all those patches you got from the local "alternative" clotheshop by behaving on ToTP so they don't feel awkward at their next bridge evening!
I suppose they'll never look like hypocrites, though, as they'll never be rich or famous enough for us to tell.
At least Busted are honest about it all... Nu-metallers are the new boybands, as if Linkin Park appearing on CD:UK before an audience of screaming prepubescent girls wasn't poof enough...

So quality defines genre? No, 'friad not. It's still metal, whether you like it or not... you can pidgeon-hole it as nu-metal or something, but it's still metal... sure, they're a disgrace but being a bad metal band doesn't stop them from being a metal band...

Whatever happened to the days where a band was hated by the media for being punk rockers? Sex Pistols, Misfits, anyone?
I hate how it's seemingly cool to be punk, or pop-punk, or nu-metal, or whatever these days. You're on every damn magazine cover and you got a special on MTV. Perhaps I'm overreacting, but that's just my take on it. Oh by the way, Metallica rules.

Hell yeah.but as far as I'm concerned punk is: the Ramones and the Clash, not... this **** of "ohh, look, I wear a tie!"
Thanks to Quicksilver and Stone Cold Skywarp for their help.

I don't mind LP's music to be honest, but anyone claiming they're really alternative is a bit mad, IMHO... they're basically marketed as a boy band - sure, they can all play their instruments and write a decent enough song, but they're pushed in much the same way, at pretty much the same audience... in the Uk at least, their fans are generally pop fans who think they're doing something epoch-making... all that's happened over here is that alternative is the new pop, with high street stores now carrying designer alternative clothing, and the alt. clubs doing a pretty penny... I've nothing against LP, it's hardly their fault that they're fashionable, and why shouldn't they make money out of a trend, but the point stands.
Oh, and Avril is about as punk as Perry Como.
