[RID,UT] Paint Chipping

i just got given last week a figure of Energon Steamhammer, transformed him to robot mode and found the paint on the decepticon logo flicking off, has this happened to anyone else???:rant:

i haven't heard of that problem with steamhammer yet, but somone had the same problem with downshift.

My annoying friend, this is a common problem with Takara and Hasbro.

The basic problem is that they're trying to put gloss paint over a coat of gloss paint. The issue here is that gloss paint has a sort of oil on the surface. They don't clean it properly before hitting it with the top layer.

So the reds and purples and the such tend to rub off when they are applied over a layer of gloss paint.

The most extreme situation I've seen is Storm Jet, and even Takara's version. I've also noticed it happening to the deluxe Optimus Prime, and Kicker...

this is so irritating my stormjet towline and steamhammer energon characters have almost no paint on their faction symbols left. towline are the only one thats a real problem with the fact that the symbol is inly painted instead of moulded.

they make me so mad.
