Attacking Iacon

Post by Blitzwing 2 »

In WWI, Starscream comes in from attacking an Autobot command post to find the Decepticons attacking Iacon and thought that he and Megatron agreed that attacking Iacon was a "tatical no-no." Yet during the next few issues, the Decepticons are absolutely smashing all resistance in Iacon, so why's it a tatical no-no? I'm thinking maybe that Megatron made Starscream think this to keep him outta the inner circle of his plans. But if so, why not just wipe out the Autobots at Iacon, clean-up any pockets resistance(with Iacon being the hq of the Autobots, I'm sure that the outlieing command posts and Autobot territories would have been easy to finish off without Iacon's communications and road networks as the Autobots at these places would have been isolated) and then get on with turning the planet mobile and mechaforming process rather than use the assult for a cover up and chasing Optimus Prime underneath the planet's surface.

The reason why it's a complete contradictory turnaround can be found inside the cover - "Writer Simon Furman".

Planning ahead nowadays is for writers who aren't trading on past glories.
