They lost the name of a toy to a movie that came out when? 1994?
Makes perfect sense.

Quick question to the Hasbro idiots:
How can a person living to Greece, or France, Germany or any other European country get these items from your shop?
This is SO typical of Hasbro. Release nifty items as american store exclusives only. Iidiots

Few stuff in the UK to trade/sell. Measly sales thread.
You realise that you're a borderline Hasbro basher nowadays?Originally posted by Knightdramon

Like it or not USA is their main market area, Europe just a minor market area.

The only question I have is why they're selling them at retail value, when it's a direct-to-customer sale? It's not going through any channels that would require a markup, and unless shipping is included in the cost of the figure, it's cheaper to just go to the store and buy it. I'm guessing that they're doing this so as not to cannibalize their retail sales . . .

Am sure Hook had merchandising so there was bound to be a Hook toy.
That was how many years ago exactly?

The only trademark containing the work "Hook" currently listed as "live" on the USPTO website I can find appears to be "Skyhook" by Mattel... Though I doubt that's the reason.
I guess it's simply because "Hook" is deemed a too generic word these days, and Hasbro don't see a chance to be able to defend the name in court, so they would have to modify it, e.g. "Decepticon Hook", "Constructicon Hook", "Battle Hook" or something like that. Which sounds... sub-optimal.
I guess they simply went for a better name.

So what, it's elitism at it's best? If I want to buy a figure, why shouldn't I not be able to do it because I live in Europe?Originally posted by Osku

You're from Finland, you understand me. How much was Energon Megatron there? 60 euros? I've been told that Vector Prime costs 35 euros over there. That's +10 euros from armada megas. If we're not the main market area, why do we get certain items at insane prices?
It's bad enough that when we get *certain* items they cost a lot, it's even worse when you have to resort to online stores and pay much, much more for things that were supposed to be mass-released.

Thats Hasbro for you. If they can sale it one place, why bother anywhere else. And if they do, make a lot of money on it.
Anything that comes over here in the UK usually ends up in a sale in a few months so I can't say much.
