Transformers G1 DVD Collections?

Post by Tempest »

Just a general query about some the the DVD Box sets, from region to region. Long ago I picked up Collection 1 and 2, then all of a sudden 4 and 5 come out of nowhere with 3 in no sight. Now why this pisses me off I don't know, but I found out that EzyDVD.com.au has them, along with the movie and I'll just pick it up from them.

However I have a question for the US/UK collectios. Ours is region 4. In AUS they were released under Madman, and so far 5 different collections. But apart from this, heres the question.

Does the DVD's just contain the episodes? Or do they have special features? And are their only 3 DVD's to the box set? Here's how mine come up:

Collection 1: Series 1.
  • Disc 1 = 1.1 - Ep 1 - 5
    Disc 2 = 1.2 - Ep 6 - 10
    Disc 3 = 1.3 - Ep 11 - 16
This comes in a silver box.

Collection 2: Series 2.1.
  • Disc 1 = 2.1 - Ep 17 - 24
    Disc 2 = 2.2 - Ep 25 - 32
    Disc 3 = 2.3 - Ep 33 - 40
This comes in a purple box.

Collection 4: Series 3.1.
  • Disc 1 = 3.1 - Ep 66 - 70
    Disc 2 = 3.2 - Ep 71 - 75
    Disc 3 = 3.3 - Ep 76 - 81
This comes in a aqua box.

Now, on none of the DVD's are any special features. Nothing, at the end of each disc is jsut credits to the guys at madman (an end picture) and that's it. On the behind of the box is each episode and a little blurb and the correct order in which the episodes are (Dark Awakening is ep 73 and Starscreams Ghost is 81). on each of the DVD cases is a art work of a character (i.e. 3.1 is Galvatron) and on the inside is art work as well, covering the whole inside (About A4).

Now, I remember Gesani saying something about 'wait until you get the whole set, your in for a suprise'. Now does this mean that Collection 5 has the Special features on it? Or was he just teasing me, or saying how luck I'd be with all the episodes. Also to my knowledge they did put Re-Birth at the end of Season 3.

Doesn't 3/4 have the rest of Beast Within as well?
