Apparently early eps of CR were subbed, but they stopped whne RiD was green-lighted, I think.
The dubs were done by Star TV, a Singapore company, on the cheap. It's possible the name changes were to tie in with the local toyline. It's also possible that the people who made them didn't have a clue what they were doing.

I believe subtitled Micron Legends is filtering out now...
There's also the first 12 of Beast Wars second, and the first 6 or so Beast Wars Neo.
The dubs...
I originally thought they were done by a Singapore TV company...
But I have since been told (on the Iaconhub) that Star TV is actually from Hong Kong...
but, it's them that performed that butchering job

Possible?
deffinatly
sorry I got really bored and watched "4 warriors came down from the sky" and it just killed me
GRIMLOCK SPOKE PROPER ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!
I dunno, I have some video editing stuff and access to a sound room with some good equipment. If I could ever find good quality raws and a translated version of the script it would be tempting to go in and try and do it right.
Otherwise I'm going to keep looking for anything subbed

with regards to Grimlock speaking properly...
that may be a simple translation thing
I mean, how do you replicate "Me, grimlock no like you much" in Japanese?
(legit question, btw)
Did Grimlock even have his simplified speech in the Japanese continuity?
oh, and I've just checked - Star TV is definitely Hong Kong

that looks like the same logo to me...
There does appear to be an office in Singapore, though

hummmm
that is a legitimate question, I wonder if it is possible to write\speak like that in Japanese?
But if they were going to do the english dubs it wouldn't have been too hard to change around what he said to make it like the US version
Did star only do Headmasters or did they go right through to Victory?

Yep. All the Dinobots spoke with broken engl-...Japanese.
Though I know Japanese, I don't know it THAT well so I couldn't replicate that sentence for you.
Sorry.
I'm sure it was something like "Ore Grimlock, omae taosu zo!" I haven't seen 2010/HM eps in a while, though... I do remember him speaking in really simple words, with that similar voice, though. Since I have the LD set that has the phone messages on it, I could check exactly what he says, though...

I got many of my Transformer tapes through this website. However, it hasn't been working lately. I think he shut down his business.
I know you can download episodes on the net, but I don't know where (I never download eps). I'm sure someone here knows, though.
I didn´t know BWNeo episodes had been subbed. Nice to know.
Direct Connect (or preferably Direct Connect++) file sharing program is my choice. Go to http://www.iaconhub.com for more information about the program and a good transformers hub.Originally posted by DrSpengler
