BT-16... BLACK WIDOW?!? (according to Zinc Panic)

Post by Nevermore »

As of yesterday, Zinc Panic changed the name of BT-16 (that silver Takara version of Alternators Decepticharge) from "Wildrider" to "Black Widow".

WTF?

Holy f***, how could I not notice that "Wildrider" has Blackarachnia's colours!

A female Decepticon in a "mainstream" line like Binaltech (as opposed to a Botcon exclusive) - man, there is a loving God... :D

Blackarachnia and any other Fembot (except Strika) deserves a new mold with a decent figure

unless this Black Widow thing is false

bold move indeed, but not logic, wonder what Ichikawa will come up with, transgenders?

It doesn't look like a female, to tell you the truth. You can colour it bright pink with neon green and it still looks masculine, like Overdrive.

I feel sorry for Ichikawa, though. Poor guy has to come up with stories for any character the demented guys at takara come up with.

Did she have her tits smaller? Cause the one thing BA was famous for was the exaggeration of her upper body parts.
Really want the original(basic) Rattrap's gun. Please PM me if you have one you might spare!

wait, is black widow the jap. name of BA or sumhting? Does that mean there putting a BW figure in a timeline that was spanned from G1. ahhhhhhhhhh, wtf

Yes.

BW is a confirmed part of the Binaltech continuity, as proven with BT Ravage. However, Ravage was still a G1 character; he just took the scenic route to the Binaltech project.

Keep in mind, this is only one site. It appears to be neither one of the official sites nor an online store. The odds are better that this will be Wildrider and not Blackarachnia/Black Widow.

ok, because i know it was conformed wiht ravage, but ravage was given a real way intot he story. BA went on the shuttle, she went to cybertron, and was in BM, and survied it, to live afterwards wiht silverbolt. i just cant think of a way she could fit inot the story. anyone have any ideaS?

Well, no matter what explanation Ichikawa-san will come up with, it will certainly be something interesting. Especially given that it has been established in canon that Blackarachnia started out as a Maximal protoform, while BT Blackie (assuming it really will be her) will be a Decepticon. So either she was once a Decepticon who for some really unusual reason became a Maximal instead of a Predacon and then forgot all about it (which would be interesting, because it would give credence to Blackie's claim that she really is "a bad girl"), or she came into the time of the BT storyline from the future. Maybe in the changed future that Ravage created, she was always a Pred (not a Maximal)...

That's the best speculation I can come up with right now.

At least some Overdrivre's art look a bit femalish :wall: but this is a BT, so not art ...

Hmmm . . . when Ravage entered the Beast Wars, Blackarachnia was still a predacon. Could it be possible that he took note of her, and decided to build a BT and name it after her, programming it to be like her, seeing a warrior like her as a valuable asset to his team?

Well, the colors make a lot more sense, now, but I still think it's ugly. Maybe if they'd given it a more femmish face . . .

... face ... and chest, legs, stomach ... the general BT design, overall, isn't useful to create a female robot, like BW was.

Well, how feminine did Strika look like? ;)

I do agree a different head sculpt would be nice, though.
