I tried to like it, I really did.
Now, don't get me wrong - I like a bit of Matchbox 20 as much as the next person-who-likes-a-bit-of-Matchbox 20. But there's a time and a place for that sort of thing, and that's three years ago and on VH1.
It's FM-friendly middle of the road pseudo-rock for 40somethings who wear jeans and a jacket, drive a silver Impreza and desperately want to be down with the kids.
It's for people who think Kelly Clarkson is cutting edge.
It's generic interchangeable Radio 2 fodder for them to play in lieu of proper rock in fear that a bit of Rage might frighten the grannies.
It's the type of music that sounds like it's been genetically engineered to soundtrack The Making of The OC.
It's not fit for human consumption.
And the worst thing of all? The people love it.
Argh!
