Favourite TV program.

Just wondering what is your favourite program you watch on TV / DVD? I’ve just finished watching Firefly, and House (season 1 &2) and now I need something elseto watch, any good suggestion?

Cheers.

Haha :D I don't really like soaps, so might give that a miss.

Veronica Mars.

You can't get it on DVD outside R1 yet, but the first season is well worth importing.

It's basically a noir murder mystery type thing, done in the traditional teen show stylee. But good. Really, exceptionally good.

Wittiest thing on TV since Whedon stopped making shows.

I second Veronica Mars.

Scrubs for comedy. And **** me if current season isn't actually very good.

Battlestar Galactica for s-f.

I also watch Grey's Anatomy and Heroes and feel they are worthy a recommendation, too.
-Okay, the bomb's dropped. Life goes on. No amount of sulking or worrying changes that. We've got our own lives to live. In that regard, in five minutes time, I am using the autopilot on the Midnight Runner and taking it down the pub. If I go on my own, I go on my own.
-Well. Wait up, you horrible English git. While I'm around, you don't have to go anywhere on your own.
And, one by one, the others follow.
And, one by one, they begin to smile.

Probably Grey's Anatomy as it's the only show that I watch with any regularity anymore.

Seeing as I love the shows you mentioned, I'm backing Ozz's choices.
And also recommending NYPD Blue and Murder One. Just because I can.

I can't believe no one has said The Sopranos. Best thing ever on TV.
Come on and wind me up.

It was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I don't give a damn how much flak I get for saying it either. That was the best slagging show on network TV...I haven't seen anything else rival it thus far in creativeness and story. There was some pretty good acting going on in the series too if I may say so.

Yeah, I skipped over suggesting Buffy on the basis that you've just watched Firefly, and so assumed that you'd already seen the Mutant Enemy shows.

Hence my Mars recommendation. Whedon himself calls it the best program ever.

Joss Whedon's production company.

Hence the screen at the end of every episode of Buffy, Angel and Firefly that says Mutant Enemy with the little monster across the bottom that goes "grr, argh"

The Greatest shows ever:

Doctor Who
The Avengers
(Emma Peel era, though the Keel/Luthor/That Playschool Presenter/Gale/King/Purdey and Gambit years all have something to reccomend them, just not Diana Rigg in leather).
Angel
Babylon 5
Star Trek: The Animated Series
Life on Mars (assuming the resolution isn't crap)
Saphire and Steel
Dangermouse
24

For starters.
