The Monsterbots
The Monsterbots
If there's a sub-group I don't quite understand, it's the Monsterbots. I mean, what are these guys supposed to do? Do they specialise in anything? Have some sort of general function?
I like the Monsterbots, but they have me a bit baffled. If anyone could shed any light on them, I'd be very thankful.

If you believe the IDW comics they're the A Team
Which I guess means that:
Grotusque is Hannibal
Doublecross is Face
Repugnus is BA
otherwise they like many other groups have disparate functions and are grouped solely by similar alt modes .
You could argue that Sky Lynx was a Monsterbot based on his dino bird mode
which I guess makes him Howling Mad Murdoch

No, no, no. Doublecross is Face AND Murdoch. Sky Lynx is Amy, and any episodes with her in suck.optimusskids wrote:If you believe the IDW comics they're the A Team

I think my favourite "only works for toys" subgroup is the Throttlebots. In the plastic, they have motors which is maybe a bit notable. In fiction, though, what is their deal? "Yeh, we've got THROTTLES!". So does basically everyone else. Go team up with the Transformbots and the Twolegstwoarmsandaheadbots, morons.
I always saw them as yet another Autobot black ops group.
Mind, they've never been depicted as such, but their various profiles sort of suggest they would be.
I think.
Or were they renegades? Maybe space pirates? ****, I don't know.

But even then, Furman didn't convey that all too well, other than (I guess) that they were like the Wreckers but shadier.optimusskids wrote:If you believe the IDW comics they're the A Team

Maybe it's because they didn't come with weapons of any sort, and they have to resort to throttling their enemies with their bare (and poorly moulded) hands?Cliffjumper wrote:I think my favourite "only works for toys" subgroup is the Throttlebots. I used to think the Throttlebots were intended to have particularly high resistances so they could crash into things at high speeds, like the Stunticons did in their debut. Unfortunately, no... they just dinky minicars with door-panel arms and big technological wedding trains sticking out from behind their ankles.
