Dr. Strange- The Animated Movie

Post by Zeeks »

I picked this up last night. Was extremely impressed with all aspects of it. Anyone else grab it? What did you think?

Funny, because for the first time in about 10 years I watched the old live action movie yesterday. I didn't even know there was an animated movie, must see if I can find it.

I've seen the trailers on Marvel. It did look promising.

I've never seen a live action Dr Strange film...

Personally, I thought it was on par with the Ultimate Avengers, but a much more personal story of struggle and strength. What's always amazed me about Strange is that I see him as pretty much the polar opposite of Doom- yeah, I know, Richards is his arch nemesis, blah blah blah, but if you look at their (Von Doom and Strange) lives, where they started, how they grew, where they are in their respective lives now, it's like yin and yang.

And it was a welcome relief for the disappointing Iron Man movie.

A-f***ing-men. Someone finally has the balls to say it.

The Ironman movie was one of the hardest movies to stay awake for. I tried to watch it several times, and when I finally did watch all the way through, I felt it wasn't worth it. The only thing I liked about the DVD had to be the extras, mainly the suits throughout the years, and the preview to Dr. Strange.

Dr. Strange on the other hand, had to be more addicting to me, if only for the fact that I prefer more Magical and Occult stuff compared to half-assed technological crap.

Yes so I'm dragging up an old thread, but I finally got around to seeing this and was thoroughly impressed. A great update that dealt with the character exactly as a movie should, rather than treating it like "just a cartoon". If the proposed live action moive is half as good as this I'll be very happily surprised. My only bone to pick was the fanboyish throwing in of Clea's name at the end. Totally unnecessary. Mind you, Marvel do that stuff in all their movies, so it really is a minor nitpick.
