Did a quick search, didn't spot this except for a catalogue number showing up...

Not anywhere on Hasbro and related sites. Is this official merchandise? It doesn't look like an old style 1980s type, since they merely had sigils or other flip-up faces...

Yeah, official AFAIK. The guy has other prototypes, including a BotCon Dreadwind... it's possible that in the slew of movie stuff, this just hasn't been more widely noticed yet...

That Frenzy actually looks movie-ish, unlike the rest of the Real Gear line.

Assuming he even IS Real Gear line. Which I doubt, unless they make him really tiny...

Frenzy looks nothing like his skinny bony self.:eyebrow: Does the watch actually work?

I wouldn't be surprised if it did, considering how little space and money a working digital clock would require...

Wouldn't translate well to toy form, as a standalone. The frenzy that comes with Barricade is pretty neat, so I'm set.

I'd say probably not. None of the other real gear stuff has any working components.

It's obvious that the other Real Gear stuff would not really work, but a digital watch could certainly pose no problems. That said, the time on the pics is fixed at 5:17 and 40secs (anyone any idea why, off hand?) which is a crying shame. At least the old watches were not simply decorative toys, even if they were simple.

I'll live with that mini boombox as Frenzy, having just read the first installment of the magazine of the movie. He even spits discs, see?

If it were a real watch,I'd say it would cost about $50.00.:\

You're joking right? Burger King can sell digital watches for $2.99 and those came with a tin, and had to pay Lucas his outrageous licensing fees. I'm sure they could sell this at the same price as the rest of the (probably larger) Real Gear figures.

It'd be $50.00 if it had a calendar, stopwatch, alarm clock, etc. like my digital watch.

And it'd be a lot more if it was made of solid gold and gave the wearer the power of invisibility...

Nope, the watch is not functional. It was shown on another auction sometime last month and a seller was asked and he said no.

Still, it looks nice. It would've been nice for the Real Gear items to have some sort of functionality.

Such as Longview, apparently you can actually look through him, but nothing magnifies, etc. It's a simple piece of plastic, turning him into work binoculars wouldn't have hurt.

Meantime would've been an easy thing to do as well, LCD guts and a battery aren't that expensive.

Ah well, at least they look cool.

I wonder - what could Clay do with this and a box of digital watch parts?
