TRANSFORMERS

If it doesn't say TRANSFORMERS, then it's not ROBOTS IN DISGUISE! TRANSFORMERS is one of the hottest boys brands around the world and in 2004, Hasbro celebrates the brand's 20th anniversary with TRANSFORMERS ENERGON, the next installment of the legendary storyline of OPTIMUS PRIME and the AUTOBOTS versus MEGATRON and the DECEPTICONS. Hasbro will support TRANSFORMERS ENERGON with an integrated marketing program that will include an action figure line, television programming, publishing, and looks to sign licensees in a wide variety of categories. Hasbro will introduce TRANSFORMERS ENERGON to fans in early 2004 with 26 new episodes that will air on Cartoon Network and through Dreamwave's highly successful comic book line.

A European licensing program will be launched in the spring; products include storybooks, coloring and activity books, sticker collection, comic books, greeting cards and calendars, posters, bicycles/outdoor toys, apparel/footwear and melamine items.

Good news, and it has a pre-planned European distribution licence planned....does that mean Hasbro/DW/whoever are learning from their mistakes?

OK, the referances to Energon, Optimus and Megatron, on top of the 20th anniversery, do you think it's a return to Generation 1? Get to see new modified versions of the classic characters? (LOL and how many names Hasbro kept a hold of?)

I pray to god this time we get complex Transformations, triple changers, quiticombiners, and include some of the ideas from Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Robots in disguise, Armada.
The show could be animated as CGI by Mainframe or one of those houses that did work on Animatrix. Thats my opinion at least, i think Hasbro should consider it as Transformers wouldnt be 20 years celebrating without fans.

I'll kill a few rumors right now.

Aeon, the company responsible for the Armada cartoon is doing the new serie. The scripts are written first in japanese and then translated to english.

There will be no Gestalts (five + member combiners) in the future toy lines.

There will apparently be gimmicks specific to each factions.

All info obtained from Orson at 2005boards.

I think CGI would be awsome. Esp. Mainframe. Just watched some reboot tonight and I realized what I missed about BW in Armada = the violence. Mainframes shows are much more violent than the standard Cel animation and considerably better done than Armada.

I just wonder how they'd handle Robot forms though

And if it is based in G1, What is Megatron going to look like and transform into?

Yeah and the cel shaded animation in Armada doesnt come close to previous series. I get the impression they use different studios and bad animation such as episode 3 Base doesnt help one bit. Its basically Pokemon style in Armada but they could have done so much more imaginative stuff with the Mini-con idea. Such as made them talk normally and be individuals opposed to all Transformers. instead we get three kids narating moral lessons done in about a hundred shows. Mainframe did Beast Machines well to, despite the unfavourable premise.

I loved beast Machines, Favorite ever. But honnestly it's far to early as we know NOTHING about Energon.

One question, why are they only going with 26 episodes? Seems a little light to me. Unless the really are going CGI again (IE Beast Machines)

God, why are they going back with Aeon? The animation isn't that good, you think that Takara would have access to better animation studios

What's up with the killing of Gestalts? they were one of my favorite things

Orson is rumoured to be Aaron Archer, head of Hasbro TF toy design. I think his identity was confirmed by someone out there.

BTW, if you haven't got the message, he doesn't like ppl asking him about progress of TF video game development.
Sig? I don't need no steenkin' sig!
