Interesting Transformers-like knockoffs at BBTS

Post by Springer007 »

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=1176 I found these highly interesting!! Even for stuff that is technically a knock-off, I was highly impressed with the ingenuity of it all!

A couple of these aren't half bad. I like the ford gt Mirage knock-off, actually.
These also have kitbashing potential considering this line has some models that the Binal/nators line haven't used.

Heeeey! I've seen that Toyota Supra!

What's makes the whole thing ironic is that we get no Alternators, but we do get knockoffs. :p I wonder if I could fit my Marvel Legends into one of those 1:12 ones...

Especially the Hummer. Can you say 'Megatron'?

The Toyota Land Cruiser and Supra have been around for a couple of years, but the rest of these are new to me.

They're not 1:24 like Binaltechs are, so I'm not interested personally :o

I wonder if that's intentional so that these can never be mistaken for the Hasbro/Takara products... ?

How long have they been stocking these? I know a lot of people were curious about a US supplier for them.

Oh I am so getting these if they turn out to be decent quality id like to see and get my hands on one to see what the paint quality, shut lines etc are like.
As an avid collector of 1:18 scale model cars (104 pieces in my collection and counting) this is exactly what ive been after since I was gutted when I found out the Alternators were only 1:24 scale and wouldnt "fit" with my collection.
I hope these come to the UK as im not getting one until i see it in the metal for myself(unless I get it for pennies on ebay) or if anyone on here gets one maybe they could do a review.
Cant wait til February now as its also my birthday on the 4th (so you know what to get me guys!!!!)

It says on the link they are pre-order for February.
Can anyone else confirm if these are out in the wild as it were.

Whatever you do dont diss Gobots in any way shape or form. Cliffjumper will be all over you like the proverbial bad suit.
I made that mistake once and i still have the scars to prove it.

Well, they look pretty sweet, but at the price tag, I'm gonna wait until I hear from people who have one to find out how fragile they are.

Now then, I might just be interested in a few of these (if not too dear), maybe with some new Humbrols. I must admit that I read the thread head and prepared to sigh dramatically, but these are good. If you want to see appalling knock-offs, which really are just that, try your local Wilko or Poundstretcher; they have sundry dubious sets of cheap, shape-changing vehicles.
