I know it's still pretty early, but I hope he comes out as a binaltech as well. Great news though.

[hope the bt version doesn't cost as much as 8000 yen, lol]

Does anyone find it mildly weird that Hasbro is releasing (and announcing) an Alternator BEFORE Takara does with the Binaltech?

I wonder if this supports the idea that Takara is dropping the BT line. Either way, it does seem to be a favourable indication that Hasbro is going to continue to bring out new moulds (and ones that can be nicely repainted to nausium).

Now, if they can release something past Dead End in Canada, I'd be happy.

I hope that in the name of all that is good in this world that he looks nothing like a bloody people carrier. I know he was a delivery van in G1 but do they have to make him some so undesirable in the Alternator line....no! I reckon he'd make a cool pickup or a different 4x4 jeep-like vehicle.

Or an ice cream van.

Ooh! Ice cream! :)

Eh, unless he's freakin' awesome, I'm not getting anymore alts after Shockers and Decepticharge.

Ironhide is not official, it's black market prototype theft, as usual.

Hasbro usually announces Alternators first...the past what..8 Alternators have been announced in the US first.

Plus, ever since Windcharger, Alternators HAVE been released way ahead of their respective Binaltech counterparts.

Takara is not dropping the Bts, it's just that Alternators are announced and produced faster.

It's much faster to produce a toy molded in coloured plastic, toss it in a big red box, throw some poorly illustrated instructions and call it a day ;)

Bts have to have all the paperwork ready, the latest story chapter written etc. Plus they have to come out with 'spaces' in-between so that people can afford them.

At least that's what I think...

EDIT-Check page six of Nev's link. Finally revealled...

I'm a bit shocked to say this but thats not half bad. Decent head sculpt with a chunky look to the rest of it. Confused though. What model is it? I dont think we have them in the UK?

Also he has to be red.

And an ice cream van.....

Kinda ugly vehicle mode, although I'd rather something ugly from Japan than a fugly American designed alt mode. Thank Prime he isn't going to end up as that monstrosity of a ute that Dodge produces.

Another plus from this is that it might give HasTak more options in terms of who they can look to for licences for further toys

I don't know why, the second I saw him I wanted him. I want that mould. For some mysterious reason, I want that damn Ironhide, I haven't been this giddy about an Alt since Deadend.

It could be worse, he could be a Honda Element.

I don't think the figure looks that bad and I'm glad they're using a more plain looking vehicle since that will help his disguise. He's definitely on my want list.
