i think the overdrive choice was for takara, not hasbro.

Now while i think its ok that they're naming him after jazz, just callin him Meister doesnt make sense, his name was Jazz Meister, which sounded REALLY cool, and while Meister still sounds cool it doesnt sound the same as Jazz Meister.

damn hasbro losing names.

As far as them losing names, like I'm sure Denyer has said at least 50 times before, Hasbro probably had no idea that they would need them when it came time to renew them (that is what you do, right?).

On another note, how do you pronounce Meister? Is it my-ster? May-ster? Or something completely different?

Since it's originally a German word, it should be pronounced "my-ster". Or, better yet, "my-stare".

Jazz was a Porsche. I know this isn't the G1 line, but come on.(for those of you who will complain about my statement; If you don't like the fact that I like G1 so much then why would you care what name it gets. Especially since these are G1 names.) Somethings just shouldn't change. I think a porsche would have worked a whole lot better, then a Mazada. Jazz does not equal Mazada.

"Zoom Zoom Prime." Unfortunately this is the new quote for Jazz.

Well, the correct German pronunciation would be something similar to "my-stare" or "mice-tear" ("tear" as in "tear apart"), but in common everyday speech, we'd usually say someting like "my-sta" (as in "star" without the "r"), since an "r" at the end of a syllable is hardly pronounced in spoken German.

Oh my.. well that threw my theory about their heads looking the same from the G1 series right out the window, since the head of the Mazda RX-8 looked just like Camshafts' head. It doesn't resemble anything like Autobot Jazz Meister.

with other threads about the RX-8 transformer that have been going around the word was that was a generic animation Mazda used and not the actual head or paint job, etc.

I can't see them calling it Meistar to be honest. Maybe Takara will, but I would guess that Hasbro would choose a more English name - doesn't make sense to me to go with a name that many people wouldn't have heard of.
