"We have been working closely with Madman throughout it's development, and as a result they have just blessed us with the very first look at a teaser sample of Don Figueroa's reversible cover design for the release! This is the first time this has been seen anywhere in the world.

Also from Stephen, we have the following bit from the official press release reguarding the artwork for the release:
"March’s release of Transformers: The Movie is to feature original and exclusive cover-art in what is to be a global first!
It was recently announced that Dreamwave Productions’ Don Allan Figueroa, artist for the popular Transformers: The War Within comic series, would be contributing art for this cult-classic release.
“Naturally, we’re pretty chuffed!” said Dean Prenc, co-producer of the Transformers DVD release. “Dreamwave is the premiere company when it comes to Transformers artwork! Their first comic series has been reprinted a number of times and Don and Simon [Furman’s] War Within is going great guns. Hasbro even contracted Dreamwave for the art on their Armada toys!”
“What Don has delivered, with the help of his colorist [Alan Wang], makes this DVD a true collector’s item, especially when you consider that the only place globally you’re going to be able get this artwork is with our DVD. Hell, it’s like we’re throwing in a free movie with Don’s art!”
Madman has also released the list of extras to be featured on the disc [below], many of which have not appeared in any other territory.
Transformers: The Movie DVD is in-stores March 12th.
EXTRA FEATURES:
• Scene Selection
• 5.1 Dolby Digital sound
• 80’s TV spots
• Theatrical trailer
• The Touch film-clip (by Stan Bush)
• Creation of the Cover Art gallery and artist bio
• Character Biographies
• Voice-actor Biographies
• Musician Biographies
• Reversible Cover by Don Figueroa
All I can say is, it's about time, it's been delayed a few times now, and now it's almost here and it's good they were succesful in getting the clip for 'The Touch'. It comes out 3 weeks before my birthday too. woo woo!

No I don't actually, there's been lots of talk about it but nothing has been confirmed, but when I get it I'll tell you (or when it's been confirmed)

Yes it will be region 4, just like the season 3 Beast Wars ones that are out here.Originally posted by King Fargo
So, I'm guessing this will be Region 4 (unlike all the other TF DVDs I've heard of)?

Is it just me, or why does everywhere else in Australia seem to get more TF stuff than Wagga Wagga?
Must be just Melbourne. I've seen 'f' all around here. But then again i haven't been out to the shops much lately ...
I'll be pissed if we don't get the DVD or the new comic up here!

No kidding Bombshell,we got gyped in terms of special features. The Aussy special features are totally wicked
I know. And it's been two years since it was released! Shouldn't we get a "Ultimate Special Edition" or something chock full of useful goodies?
I mean, if you're gonna put TF on DVD, make it worth buying by putting tons of extra sh*t to make it special!
Simple: the Canadian release came first, before the nostalgia wave hit.Originally posted by Bombshell

I don't see anything much interesting in that line-up... bio information is hardly stimulating, the trailer has been on two other DVDs, dunno what the 80's TV thing is (but if it's comparable to the "I LOVE 1984" snippet, it's bad), making the "Touch" video the only 'new' thing (it wasn't on the Rhino release, correct?)
It's a consumate and professional package, but we've already seen four TF:TM DVDs (including the Eastern one), two with extra features. Isn't there a Japanese release too?

I would have thought that the "Beast" shows would have done enough interest.

If it was, would I be b*tching about it?
