Y'know, considering Takara are the toy manufacturing equivalent of Toploader at current, why they don't just reissue Prime (sorry, Convoy) and Megatron every six months is beyond me. I mean, sure, it'd get dull, but at least they'd be on solid ground, and not publishing rape/paedophile filled hentai. Funny how lots of the fanboys have shut up, lately, too... Bandai for the win!!!!

Personally I missed out on all of these G1 Optimus Primes from the beginning inclusive of that ToyRUS special for $40 as I started late in 2004/early 2005. With this $50 Encore, it is still somewhat steep but finally I get one.

I'm use to getting stuff at a discount. MSRP has been a killer.

Meh, I'll probably get a Convoy - definitely if Hasbro take the opportunity to do a reissue (maybe this time they'll have the common sense before they get to, ahem, Fan Favourites like Grapple and Dirge)... I did get the TRU reissue, but when i saw they were going on ebay for about twice what I paid a few months later, it wasn't really heartbreaking...

I'm actually surprised Hasbro haven't put Prime out again to tie in the film. There'll never be a better time for money for old rope.

Aye, prices on ebay, even for a handless cab, are a bit mad - its the one figure that's always going to do well.

Yeh, but that's a pure technicality. All that's going to inspire from the "I remember this from when I was a kid but forgot about it until the film came out" crowd is "Dude, they've sold out optimus Prime! Dude, I like Magners! Kaiser Chiefs, dude!".

Cheers, though, got me properly excited a Hasbro issue had been announced for about three seconds.
