I need new Anime!

Post by Brave Maximus »

Ok, so I'm downloading Gundam Seed. But it comes out slowly (about 2 eps a month, maybe a little more).

Macross Zero - It comes out like once a quarter in Japan, so .....

I'm just about to finish the series of Gundam Zeta and burn it to disc and that'll free up alot of space (50 eps at 115 megs an ep)

So, I'm looking for new good anime (new as in new to me).
I've got all the slayers stuff
all of Cowboy Bebop
All of alot of gundam
DBZ on DVD
and starting on DBGT on DVD.
I have FF:U but am looking for Crystal saga or what ever it was called.

I might start back into Guyver.
Anyway, some suggestions on some new anime would be apreciated.
Yes I am very tired and I realized this was very disjointed.

PS: if anyone suggests anything like Sailor moon, Hamtaro, Yugioh or Pokemon, I will not be held responsible for my actions.

Check out the Ninja Scroll movie if you haven't already, the TV series that continues the story is coming out in september for those who like dubbing and I've been told good things about it. El Hazard is a solid choice, there are three OAV and a TV series (the wanderers), I would start with the oav and see if you like it. The second oav isn't so good but the third rocks. the tv is decent but at least an interesting take on the series. Even though its less serious at parts, Trigun is great if you like Cowboy Bebop (And how dare they edit the Movie in the American release! !#%#@&%$&^%$##!!! Sorry, not that big of a deal but annoying to see something advertised as being for adults edited). Outlaw star is another good one. Sorceror hunters is fun.
Actually, how about you say mostly what are you lookly for? IE mecha drama, comedy, ect?
I don't care about story continuity! I just have to beat you!

Ummm good anime?
Seriously: I watch Cowboy bebop, Slayers, DBZ, Gundam, Evangelion.

So anything that's good.
And honnestly I didn't like ninja scroll, I found it lacking in places.

My thing is, I don't care what it is, it has to have a good story. Something to grab me and take me places.

Hellsing.
-Okay, the bomb's dropped. Life goes on. No amount of sulking or worrying changes that. We've got our own lives to live. In that regard, in five minutes time, I am using the autopilot on the Midnight Runner and taking it down the pub. If I go on my own, I go on my own.
-Well. Wait up, you horrible English git. While I'm around, you don't have to go anywhere on your own.
And, one by one, the others follow.
And, one by one, they begin to smile.

I have Zoids on DVD, I love that stuff, and my nephew goes nuts for it...

Jim and Brendan have tons of the stuff, Jim at least will be along to make a suggestion...

He hasn't steered me wrong yet. Which reminds me, Jim, any suggestions of something that isn't a series? Y'know like Ghost in the Shell or Akira, but not those cause I've got them already...

Hellsing is an organisation who's task is to kill vampires and other stuff like it. One of the hunters is a vampire himself.

As far as I know, series has 13 episodes, some better, some worse, the fact that this good vampire cannot die no matter how little pieces you cut him into may be irritating, but overall I enjoyed the story.

Bwa. ha. ha.

Hellsing: not worth it.
Zoids: not worth it.

I HIGHLY recommend Saikano, Love Hina, Ah My Goddess, Angelic Layer, Grave of the Fireflies, and Sailor Moon.

Don't judge Sailor Moon by the horribly butchered DiC edited version on tv. The unedited stuff is really good, especially Sailor Moon S.

As Plas has said, SaiKano, Love Hina, and Sailor Moon are all excellent. I also recommend Outlaw Star, Rurouni Kenshin, YuYu Hakusho, Ranma ½, Chobits, Kimagure Orange Road, Wolf's Rain, I could go on all day but I'll stop here.

I've heard alot about Out Law Star, maybe I'll check it out

As for sailor moon (as in the other thread)
I don't like it
I've seen the un edited Subed version of the last season and I just don't like it. Personal preferance honnestly. I need more story and character developement.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. You tell him Zoids and Hellsing aren't worth it but you recommend Sailor Moon? I think that nullifies your argument right there.

BTW, watch The Big O Maximus

Hellsing was very poorly done, too short, no character development, very boring. Sailor Moon beats it in every aspect.

I'll put a vote in for Ranma 1/2 and Evangelion, Orange Road also rocks as does Gunsmith Cats and Dominion Tank Police. But if you want amazing class animation, Plas was right about Grave of the Fireflies. Also check out Spirited Away.

Then into the darker stuff... Blue seed, or Battle Angel are quite good. Mermaid's Scar or Vampire Hunter D are enough to give anime chills. For my fav, I actually really love Lodoss War.
