Toyfare #120 almost entirely about Transformers

Post by Sir Auros »

It's reaching subscribers and comic shops now.

Transformers-related features:
  • Transformers Classics photo priceguide
  • Comparison of Prime figures (it's not complete)
  • Michael Bay on the movie
  • Preview of the game
  • Overview of merchandise and blurb on older merchandise
  • Look back on original movie
  • Article on Transformers/Avengers crossover
  • Japanese exclusives
  • A complete Transformers priceguide*

*In fact, the Transformers priceguide is the entire priceguide for the issue, so you will probably want to buy this one.

EDIT - The bagged subscription copy I got also had a sample Jetfire from the Transformers 3D cardgame. Copies in stores may be bagged this month as well, because mine doesn't usually come like that.

No matter how much asskissing Wizard does, I will not buy this issue. I haven't purchased a ToyFare in years and won't soon again either.

They also snuck in a Battle Beasts priceguide (since they were involved in the Japanese continuity).

They're too nonsensical, and their priceguide was well out of whack last time I checked. (2003)

I preferred Lee's. I don't even know if it's still in print at this point.

I'm not overly crazy about ToyFare either. It definitely promotes the stereotype that all modern toy collectors are loser-fanboy-dweebs.

Regardless, though, I'll still be buying this issue. (Guess that makes me a loser-fanboy-dweeb.)

No, posting on a Transformers messageboard and collecting toys would do that.

Well, there's stereotypes everywhere. Get used to it. Embrace it, even. otherwise, you'll just miss out on stuff... like this, for example.

I used to be an avid reader of Toyfare, I don't recall why that stopped... I'm so getting this.

Again, we're not talking Time or Forbes here. Have you seen the letters columns of other magazines targetting our demographic? Did they burn you in a letters response or something?

I'm just not understanding the sentiment towards a magazine.

Alright peeps, geez. Seriously.

PSM was alright when I was younger- loved the humour in that. It hasn't aged well from what I understand though.

There's no rules that say we have to be fair about anything.
No, but one would hope that we haven't gotten so bigheaded as to just ban people who haven't caused any trouble simply because their opinion didn't match ours. If that's the way things are going, I'm getting the **** out of here.

Can we get back to the original topic now?

I'm not interested in the original topic.

I didn't say that we aren't fair. We are often fair, but not because we have to be.

It never hurts to be reminded of where you stand when you start making comments like "you have no say about it".

Then do what we always advise people to do in such a case and employ your back button, then.

Yes ma'am.

As I've said what I wanted to say I've got to agree that it's best not to derail a news topic.
