this toy must be really far along in development. March 2007 isn't far away.
besides hasbro is no doubt full swing into movie toy design and hero's design. this must have been in the works for a long time.

i hope it isn't baseless rumor.

Well, the first we heard of MP Starscream was the leaflet included with the THS #2 Convoy, and it was only released in March. March is still a good five months away, so it is a reasonable amount of time for a release.

I think megatron deserves some die cast metal for a masterpiece... starscream is plastic.... dont get me wrong, i love my alternators, but i would like weight to megatron.

Perhaps MP-05 has something to do with this image from a while back: http://www.tfarchive.com/community/show ... did=35411. I was a bit disappointed when it turned out to not be the classics Megatron, but if the design was instead to be used for the Masterpiece edition, I will be even happier.

This is true, Megs needs to be a die cast espescially to really feel like, you know, MEGS

but all the same, Sharp and wishing for the best.
is kinda strange, movies and random toys being so closely released...........
life is great. then you die and leave everything to your wife.

Masterpiece Megatron

Post by ColdBain »

Very good news, which I hope is confirmed. I liked that design for the G1 Megatron tank from one of the earlier threads, however I don't like the pasty brown. Just make him grey, go on, please? If that is the design, please be grey! Like the cartoon! (Not that I know a lot or anything about MP-05, but if he is a gun, then phwoar!)

ALSO!

Post by ColdBain »

Let him be the same height as Optimus Prime. Starscream is great, but he's short. Megatron and Optimus have to be similar height, they just gotta!

Actually...being a Masterpiece and all...I'd really like to see them make a version that turned into the gun. It'd have to be an oversized pistol (to match the height of Optimus) but who cares. It'd be nice to have a Megatron that actually looked like the cartoon/comic versions of him.

But that M1 Abrams is pretty cool too. :)

i already said an oversize pistol, but then somebody whined that they didn't care if the pistol was a foot n a half long, they would run for thier lives as if i was brandishing a real fire arm....

My guess: gun alt, and they aren't reissuing Megs because it'd result in slightly less demand for a Masterpiece design.

Guns don't kill people. Bullets do. The guns just make them go really fast.

i disagree... the bullet goes fast on it's own, the gun just points the way.

Bullets don't kill people. the transfer of kinetic energy and momentum does. Bullets just transport the energy to the target.:p

Yeah, but try fitting that on a bumper sticker.
