Manufacturing errors on X Transformer?

Post by Glitcher »

This thread is to discuss and get independant confirmation on whether a certain manufacturing problem on X Transformer is universal or limited to a particular toy.

For my part, the hip joints on my Titanium Rodimus Prime are insanely tight! Seriously, I can seldom transform him without his legs popping off at the knees because those damn hips just won't rotate. In fact, trying to loosen them up through back and forth rotation has caused some serious plastic stress after only a week.
Secondly, my G1 Seaspray can't stand up to full height because the slides on his legs are too loose.

Can someone tell me if his Rodimus Prime and Seaspray display the same problems, or is it just mine?

I may get a few raised eyebrows as to my easy fix solution to loose joints.
Simple:
Take apart so you can expose the peice of plastic in question
on seaspray it's the bottom of the yellow part of the legs, so take off the front and expose it.
Add a little superglue to the area in question (just to add bulk to the worn area) wait for it to dry - put it back together and it's stiff as anything.
I did it on my Seaspray (along with a few others I'm not particularly bothered about, but prefered their tight joint poses) and now he has nice tight legs and arms.

Clear nail polish works quite well for loose joints too. ;)

It's much easier to apply too. The only problem is explaining to your parents why you have nail polish.

Skids reissue - the rear wheels don't go flush into the feet, giving him a wobble. Of course, Takara ****ed up loads of things for the reissues, so it's probably best I don't go much further...

I don't know if this is either a design or manu. error... But anyone else have problems transforming Alt. Optimus Prime into truck mode perfectly.

I'd have a hard time explaining why there's a syringe in my house. Believe me, it's only used to drain washing fluids out of tight spots. :p

Sears was asking about this too....

I was having problems with the front end of the cab fitting back together correctly. The windshield and hood were mis-aligned. Turns out I didn't have the arms and shoulders pushed all the way back in. For some reason, if they aren't pushed all the way back in it goofs everything up.

The head on mine is fine. However, the first Jetfire I bought had a defective missile launcher, but I managed to get him exchanged the next day.

Those were the days, black nailvarnish and listening to MSP whilst thinking how cool it would be to be Nick Wire or Richey James.
