Oooh, here's a thought from TFW2005:

Could those be Hasbro showroom giveaways for this year's BotCon, like LoC Skywarp at last year's SDCC and LoC Ramjet at last year's BotCon?

Probably. Very limited appeal for mass-markets, anyway.

Well considering the LoC price range, it's not so hard to believe that these would reach store shelves. If these were full scale figures, THEN I would agree with you guys...

...though a full-size Leobreaker repainted as Lio Convoy would kick ass.

What? Toys are more likely to be given away as freebies if they're larger?

I think you've completely missed part of the conversation...

Interesting, but I think they're going for BWII Galvatron with the Scourge repaint. (It's off, I know, but the colors are mostly there, and BWII Galvie WAS a dragon...)

Interesting set to give away for BotCon. I like the concept. :)

This is BW Galvatron.

This is G1 Trypticon.

I leave it up to you to decide who those colors - especially the DETAILS - look more like.

I think we have a winner with that one...

Something of a pity, though. Scourge in Trypticon colors does more for me than the Cryo-Scourge repaint.

Lio Convoy actually looks decent. Much better than the Beast Wars mold. I don't reallylike the idea of convention exclusives, unless they're a variant on a figure all ready out (ie, the SDCC Stormtroopers, which I believe were just the standard stormtroopers with an empire seal on them), but these are figures I can live without, so I'm not fussed.

Wow. That sounds even stupider than "Leobreaker." Way to go, Hasbro. You've taken bad names to an all-time low. Well, at least the toy looks good. Might pick some of these up.

I'm officially surprised.

Another wave of repaints of LOC as main releases? Dressed up, oddly, as classics? Bizzare.. but we're not talking things that need to sell huge amounts to break even, here.

Leo Prime is an insanely bad choice for name, though. What was wrong with Lio Convoy?

Because a lion named "convoy" is equally as retarded. :)

Leo Prime is better than Lio Convoy in my opinion. But still not so hot. Optimus Prime, Rodimus Prime...well, Leomus Prime doesn't sound good either...and Lionus Prime, although flows better, sound like "lioness."

Just out of curiosity...what was Leo Breaker's name in Galaxy Force?

Liger Jack, which reminds me too much of a certain movie about an animated kangaroo, which shall not be mentioned, under penalty of death.

Well, it's weak, but it's got a connotation with the fandom that the figure would normally appeal to, I guess. I'm more used to 'Lio Convoy' than 'Leo Prime', though, obviously, they're equally as daft.

"Liger Prime"... there's a thought.
