Upcoming TF movie aiming for PG-13 rating

Post by Nevermore »

As producer Don Murphy said on his own message board:
You want Pg-13 ?
You're gonna get PG13 you bleep bleeper.
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

What if I want size shifting, Dinobots and a cohesive child-free plot? Do I get that?

*somewhere at the back of Brend's mind, the associations between the new movie and AvP grow ever stronger*

Doesn't el señor Brendocon already have an account here and shouldn't he be using that to post? :eyebrow:

Anyone who makes the claim that this should have been rated R deserves to be beaten like a red-headed stepchild. :nonono:

why bring brendocon into this? Sir Bren of o'con and Brend are two completely different entities, with absolutely no connection to the afore mentioned member

Technically not, though anyone who registers it and is unable to prove identity to my satisfaction will lose it very quickly.

PG/12 is good. Well, it's better than U (offensively kiddified) or 15 (the studio filmed an 18 and then cuts lots of stuff because the plot wouldn't appeal to anyone over that age)... okay, there are a few exceptions, but that tends to be how things turn out...

Yeah, PG is a decent thing to aim for. 15's a difficult thing to try and hit... too unclear as to what is allowed and what isn't. Besides, how many hard drug references do you need a giant robot to make?

PG is a rating that tends to scare off most adults though and these days even the robotic violence it'd have should shoot it to PG-13.

"My household appliance is on drugs. Horrible."

What passes as acceptably violent for a PG-13 in the US may level out a little higher over here, but it isn't as if the movie will require sex and drugs in abandon.

Rock & roll, on the other hand, I'd be most disappointed if it came without.

I belive that the more Fights (Fantasy Violence) they include in the movie the higher it it top in teh pg-13 scale.

Of course i tend to avoid PG movies becuase they are usally over kiddied... i belive PG-13 by US standereds would make a decents movie..

hey, i was warned about this in the other thread. Ah, bloody hell. ;)

As for the rating, I just hope there's a body count. X-Men 2 had a body count. Yay! Go Wolverine!
Such heroic nonsense!!!

PG?
As i can remember, Hasbro is trying to have a younger target audience for TF, so ...
Despite this, PG 13 seems good, if there is not a plot like Armada (cartoon ver), with 3 child acting as pivotal point of a 4 millenium war

The amount of violence you can get in a 12 as long as there's no blood is quite stagering now days (witness Terminator 3), so it shouldn't stop the all action battle scenes... :)

I just want a fun romp in the tfu. I am, however, put off by Don Murphy's lack of respect for the franchise's history (yes, I'm angry about him implying that beast wars was ****).
