New Wal*Mart listings (four new Alternators), Universe Ultra discontinued

Post by Nevermore »

As originally reported by Jon Hartman:
Alternators
----------
81315 Honda S2000
81316 Chevy Corvette
81317 2005 Mustang
81322 Mazda RX-8

Also, it appears that the Universe Ultra assortment is being discontinued at Wal-Mart stores, since even our brand new, not-yet-opened Supercenter is not carrying them.
The Corvette, the Mustang and the RX-8 are going to be redecos/remolds (i.e. new characters) of Autobot Tracks, Grimlock and Meister, respectively.

The Honda S2000 is not totally coming out of the blue, seeing as 2005 originally ran a news story on him back in April, yet were asked to take it down for whatever reason. Interesting.
Looking for a complete Energon Sky Shadow (from Superion Maximus).
Offering: Binaltech Hound, Swindle, Ravage (Corvette), Skids.
Can buy in stores: Robot Heroes Tigatron/Inferno, Ricochet/Predaking.

Well, Hasbro did say that they have to repaint every Alternator to get their money's worth from the licensing agreements.

Bit of a pity about UN Ultras, but if they ain't selling, then they have to move on.
Sig? I don't need no steenkin' sig!

Dammit, looks like I'll be going to Target and Kmart for my Universe figures from now on. What the hell were they thinking though releasing a bunch of sh*tty ultras when they have some really killer ones in the pipeline now?

That's a really good point and makes me wonder how much of the part about Walmart dropping Universe Ultras is just a rumor....

But the not entirely inconcievable. The Seacons set will be an item that a lot of fans will be hunting down since now they don't have to try to find original Seacons or a BW II (Neo? I forget which) God Neptune, which doesn't include Nautilator. Better than 900 Tankor and Obsidians clogging the shelves...

Target?
So the only place to get Nemesis is the store run by those American Vet hating French slimeballs?

Universe Ultras are indeed discontinued at Walmart. They aren't on the modulars at any of the ones I've checked out recently and what they still have in stock has been moved to the clearance aisle.

If universe only took the same route as robotmasters. I [G1 fanboy] have bought some figures from the line which weren't g1 related.

See I'm broadening my mind.

There are some real treats in the universe line aswell [coming soon]
I know that alot of you like other lines but, you have to admit, hasbro missed the point of who they were aiming it at. I'm sure Graham Norton does not collect TFs.

Lio convoy is another anti G1 figure I might buy {i know I compared him to poodle convoy] but it was to prova a point, he is pretty kool for a robot with toe nails.

If hasbro put some effort in maybe we would start praising them. All you die cast lovers, give hasbro a brake, because of you the real master piece convoy never got released: trats right a all plastic convoy. Before you start having ago please ensure ther is a mp convoy on your shelf, or out of it's box to see ho crap his posability is. he is a masterpice . That doesn't mean I have more money than sense, I usualy spend my money on clothes, but I ain't
