World's Smallest...est Convoy?

Post by Nevermore »

As Seibertron... no wait, TFormers originally reported, Takara has released a new anniversary collection toyline, the so-called "Mini Toys Shop Collection" that features miniature versions of popular toys from the Eighties, complete with a packaging that is a faithful recreation of the respective toy's original box, including a miniature instruction booklet and a sticker sheet. The boxes themselves are randomly packaged in blind package (boy, the Japanese sure like those random assortments...).

One of those miniature toys is a replica of G1 Convoy (Optimus Prime), complete with his trailer and accessories.

The really odd thing is... this is not the Convoy we already know from Takara's "World's Smallest Transformers" line. It's even smaller!

I've been waiting for this for months now. When was the release date. I've always wondered what a Jap keyboard looks like and it's a mac one at that. That convoy must be tiny. I hope he don't break like my megatron, his chest don't raise properly, so I ripped it off trying to get it to work, but it still sits on ok and at least he transforms to robot now, takara's pics aren't transformed right either so it must be a problem with the mold.

Is it me, or does that not actually transform?

...would suggest you get a vehicle mode and a robot packaged side-by-side.

it does seem that way, but i noticed his upper arms seem quite thin than usual, if it weren't to transform I'm sure they would of done a better job. Or maybe it's so small they want to give u that bit extra. I have noticed that alot of takara boxes are taped twice, so you can lift the tape off eithout ripping the paper on the box. Maybe this is so collectors can keep it in misb and still have something for display. I'm proberly wrong, but has anyone else noticed the double tape thing, I doubt it's really caring customs people.

Your right, their is no hint of any joints on this thing, now I'm disapointed. A transformer has to transform, I'm not a fan of statues, although some look kool, but if you want a perfect robot theirs always gundam etc. In saying that I never realy transform my bots, it's in knowing they can that makes it. He does look better than wstf convoy as his legs are more apart and so on.

I didn't know takara made the dancing flower, I will look at the bottom of my mums one to check. I bet it's a knock off though. So the reason my mum has a ninja hamster on top of her TV is cause off takara. Small world.

If only I was a Jap. They are so lucky I know we see alot of the best stuff that comes from Japan but some stuff we will never see. I know the dancing flower is tacky now but who wasn't filled with joy the first time they saw it. My sistter has one of them anoiying parrots that repeats everything u say. Even though these gadgets often end up in our lofts collecting dust, I'm glad the Japs have the time and money to do these things cause if they didn't no one else would.

Does that tiny flower dance, if it does forget convoy.

The replica comes with both non-transformable Optimus Prime in robot mode and vehicle mode in the classic package with the "down-sized" classic catalog, both are even smaller than the Extremely Small Transformers line.
That settles that. *Walks away whistling*
