Energon (??) Grimlock & Swoop Colour Test Shots

Post by Rookwise »

Just checked out the 2005 boards. This thread shows coloured versions of the Energon Grimlock and Swoop:-

By the looks of them they are able to combine also.
Swoop looks really good. Will be keeping an eye out for these I think.

I don't like Grimlock's robot mode too much, but I think I'll get them both.

Swoop's head reminds me of Terrorsaur.

I'd like Grimlock if it weren't for that thing behind his head. Looks awkward.

Swoops alright, though.

Wow, nice to see a pic of Grimlock that isn't just a lump of not-even-transformed, monochrome plastic. The legs could use a little more meat on 'em, but you better believe I'd crush a 5 year old's skull to get one*...Swoop too.

*Some results vary.

I'm gonna get them.

I like Grimlock apart from his robot mode head. I dunno why it just looks weird to me.
Swoop's cool. Blue's blue though but it still looks cool.

I like Grimlock's dino-mode, but his bot mode--even with all the G1-stylings in the transformation and paintjob--doesn't work for me.

Swoop has my attention. This guy really looks cool, especially in blue. I'll be getting this one.

I've been assuming these are basic figures, but I keep reading mentions of the 'possibility' that they can combine, which tells me they're Deluxe sized?

Now I'm confused...

Apparently they are to be sold together as a 2 pack and are able to combine together.
Probably explains Grimmy showing off his birthday suit. Maybe hes the top half of the duo :eyebrow:

I'll admit that Grimlocks legs look like they need to be thicker, but over all i like the obvious homages in their transformations from G1. I can't wait to see a picture of them Combined, or any "Energon" versions of the other Dinobots

The only thing I don't like is the huge dino-head behind Grimlock's robot head. Other than that, these guys are awesome. Will definitely be getting them.

I like Macross Swoop.

Come on, you can't tell me with those thrusters he does not look a bit like a Robotech homage :smokin:

Swoop's nice. They should've done something with Grimlock's *ahem* lower area.

Yeah, but the way he transformed, the hips are spread a bit. This one doesn't even have hips. It's like two legs, attached to an upper body.

Yes, that seems likely. What with the originals standing on my shelf 'n' all.

I am with ya on that one for sure! Even though the original had the same kind of legs...doesn't mean this one has too. I think Grimlock needs to get out and do some squats or leg presses.
