TransFormers The Movie Arcade

Post by SANDSTORM »

This game is extremely rare. There may only be one or two in the entire Universes.

The game cabinet:

On the right side, the background is red. It is a picture of guess who ~ Rodimus Prime. He is pointing towards you, and carries a big laser pistol. The overhead has the TransFormers he Movie logo, with a space background. On the left side, there is a blue background and a picture of Galvatron. It’s actually the same picture of him from a poster that you would have got if you ordered anything from TransFormers during 1986 when the movie was on its way, or already out.

Okay, there is two player control sets ~ These are black handles with red trigger buttons for your index finger and your thumb. The joystick can be moved in all directions.

If you are lucky enough to own one of these, it may come with a glowing yellow to green Coin Op button. By pressing this, it will register a credit without you having to insert a coin. This feature is only for special versions, which are not for public use.

The player one and player two start buttons are circular and white. They are also for a secret if you actually try pressing them during the game.

The intro:

The game company is Midway. The Logo appears on the screen after some other stuff if you just plug the game in. The other stuff is not an actual part of the game intro, so I will spare the details. The Logo is shown on a black background and with white letters with a red aura around them.

The TransFormers The Movie opening theme will start playing, “The TransFormers…” and suchness. It will show space, then cut to Unicron in planet mode preparing to devour a planet. Then as the theme continues to play, with a moving through space background and flashing onto the screen in different direction blue letters (like the movie’s intro), it says “Starring”

It shows Blurr in a similar scene to TransFormers The Movie when he was blasting while moving rapidly within a structure in Autobot City. You know when he was talking about, “Decepticons here, Decepticons there”. You can see his mouth moving here, but the only sound you can hear is the TransFormers The Movie theme.

It goes back to the moving through space background and the flash of: Blurr.

It then shows Arcee covering her mouth when Optimus Prime died.

It goes back to the moving through space background and the flash of: Arcee.

It shows Springer on Junkion transforming into helicopter mode and rising.

It returns once again to the moving through space background and the flash of: Springer.

It shows Hot Rod falling from the platform while holding Daniel, and looks remarkably similar to the movie.

It returns once again to the floating through space background and the flash of “Hot Rod”.

It then shows Ultra Magnus when he was firing in rapid succession at Sweeps during the movie when they were under attack before they boarded the shuttles. It shows Daniel transforming his exo-suit into driving mode and crashing into an Insecticon and Constructicon while on Junkion.

It shows Optimus Prime when he says “Megatron must be stopped”, but with only the sound of the opening theme.

It shows Starscream when his foot was stuck, and he blasted his way free of his entrapment and flew off.

It shows Unicron while Megatron scrapes his way to hold on while Unicron speaks with his red glow.

It shows Ultra Magnus inserting The Matrix into his chest module.

It shows Optimus Prime being gray colored and his head falling to the side when he died.

It fades now into the shot of Galvatron with The Matrix being held by a chain around his neck as Unicron starts to transform all around him. It fades once more to the robotic mode of Unicron flying and Galvatron silently shouting “Nooo” as the shot goes past him.

It then shows the TransFormers The Movie Logo flash on the moving through space background. It remains there while it adds flashes of smaller print below the logo (also electric blue) which says insert coin/s.

If you do nothing for long enough, it will switch to previews of the game in progress. It will actually show Blurr, Arcee, Springer, and Hot Rod playing the game, then throw in a profile. It will have a picture of the character in robot mode to the left of stats, which are taken from the TransFormers Tech Specs.

The graphics for this game are very impressive for a game from 1987.

I will allow you a first person glimpse into the actual game play, so you will actually experience what it is like to play TransFormers The Movie Arcade. All you have to do is press the glowing coin-op button.

In this case, we have two players. So just press the coin-op twice. Since it glows and alternates in succession between yellow and florescent green, it looks neat. The button is square shaped and located in the middle upper part of the control panel.

Now we have two credits. The insert coin/s has now been replaced with “press start”, so we will. This takes us to the character select screen. This screen has a black background. As of right now, you can select (clockwise) Blurr, Arcee, Springer, or Hot Rod. This screen shows each one within square borders colored to the character. They just show the character in robot mode, and only a close up of his upper body and face and head. Blurr is surrounded by a light blue border. Arcee’s is pink. Springer’s is florescent green. Hot Rod’s is red.

Player one in this case will select Springer. Player two will select Blurr.

You can select the player by pressing either of the buttons on the joystick, or by pressing the appropriate player button.

The game starts by scrolling to Daniel looking at the approaching Autobot Shuttle. In white letters on the bottom of the screen, “Hot Rod look!”

“There’s a hole in the shuttle.”

It shows Hot Rod with his visor, then his perspective as he looks and more letters write: “Decepticons!”

It shows him firing on the shuttle, then a picture of an armada of Decepticons flying out, lead by Megatron. The writing now says, “Decepticons attack!”

Okay, now it shows the characters from behind them. They are small and very well animated. On the player one side is Springer, armed with his silver laser cannon. On the player two side is Blurr, armed with a black laser blaster.

They are standing right at the bottom of the screen, and you can see all of them, including their feet.

Springer doesn’t have his sword at the moment.

Stretching before the players is an area of Autobot City. The background is mostly city walls and red tendrils of smoke. The players automatically move forward. By pressing forward or backward on the joystick, the player will do the following:

Player one presses up and Springer transforms into helicopter mode and hovers moving forward in that way. Player two presses up and Blurr transforms into car mode and moves forward in that way. Player one presses down and reverts Springer into robot mode. By pressing down again, Springer transforms into car mode and moves forward in that way. In car mode, Springer’s silver cannon is mounted atop him. Player two presses up, and moves forward as far up the screen as allowed, which is only a little ways, but this makes the screen scroll forward quicker. This also brings about enemies.

Starscream flies overhead and fires, but will always miss. This is as Dirge and Ramjet transform and land in the distance ~ from jetfighter modes into robots.

Player one holds downward while player two holds upward, which makes the screen scroll forward at normal speed. This also pushes Springer below the screen so only the front of his car mode is shown. Blurr remained in the distance ahead of him, but now player two has pressed down, and Blurr reverts to robot mode. He presses down again and Blurr slows and is at the bottom of the screen where only his top half is shown. Whenever Blurr does anything, he leaves his blue blur streak.

Dirge and Ramjet fire upon the Autobots. By scrolling side to side, you can move left to right. A target has now appeared on the screen for each character. The colors of the targets for each character are the same color as the borders from earlier during the character select screen.

Both characters can move right past each other. If both players are directly parallel during the movement, they will actually collide and suffer damage from the impact, which is what occurs here. The car form of Springer moves right to evade the incoming purple blasts. Blurr moves left, while in robot form, so they hit and bounce off one another. When you take damage, character colored power meters will appear temporarily at respective places top of the screen. Colliding with the other player will only reduce the power meters by a small margin.

The lasers missing will impact with the ground and create little blast graphics. A hit will cause the character to shudder in pain. Springer gets hit twice and his power meter goes down slightly, as player one moves his joystick while holding the top button. You have to do this to move the crosshairs without moving the character.

The cool part is that while in car mode, Springer’s mounted cannon will move according to whatever the target is aiming at. Player two already has the hang of it after getting shot once. He holds down the top button while repeatedly pressing the trigger button and firing at Ramjet, who stands on his side of the screen in front of him. Ramjet gets knocked back upon every hit, and after three consecutive hits topples but quickly gets back up.

Player one holds down the trigger and blasts Dirge after getting the florescent green crosshairs pointed at his face. This knocks Dirge down after three shots, and he gets back up. Hey, once you get the crosshairs level with an adversary, the rest is easy. You can just keep firing at them and knocking them down. They will get right up and the crosshairs will be right on them still. Since there is rapid fire, which player two has now discovered, you can just blast an opponent into oblivion. This occurs here and knocks pieces from the Decepticons. You can see an opponent crack after his second time being knocked down. After three more hits, he will explode into scrap.

Both Decepticons were defeated pretty much simultaneously. If you don’t defeat them by the time you reach them, the Decepticons will just transform and fly off the screen. The key to this game is shooting at your opponents though, because by staggering them and knocking them down, you keep them from shooting at you.

Suddenly, look out from the left!

Crashing out of a wall are two Insecticons in insect mode: Bombshell and Shrapnel. Already the crosshairs are on the Decepticons while they transform into robot modes (which takes some practice). They are done for once this occurs. The red Autobot lasers fire in an onslaught, reducing the Insecticons to scrap.

Player one releases the thumb button and presses up until Springer is in helicopter mode. Player two remains in robot mode.

This is where Skywarp and Thundercracker fly and transform and land. Skywarp is difficult because he will teleport every time he gets back up. This will switch him to a different location, so you will have to maneuver the crosshairs in that direction.

Player one is maneuvering Springer to assault Skywarp, and doing a good job. Springer will hover in place in helicopter mode, but turn towards whatever his crosshairs are facing. Blurr is firing in rapid succession and has already subdued Thundercracker, so he helps player one mop up Skywarp.

Blitzwing and Kickback are the next opponents. Blitzwing transforms from jet mode into tank mode, and remains stationary, trying to aim his cannon. Kickback transforms from grasshopper insect mode into robot mode, and is a fairly easy opponent to defeat.

Player one immediately fires upon Blitzwing. The blasts do not stun Blitzwing, but damage him. The problem with Blitzwing while he’s in tank mode is that he can still fire at you while he’s being shot at. Kickback is being disposed of by Blurr, who had his crosshairs on his from the jump. Blitzwing undertook the barrage and shot player one with his cannon. He will usually get off two shots into the player shooting at him in the time it takes to force him into robot mode. He gets two shots on Springer, who is now at about 75 percent strength.

Once in robot mode, Blitzwing is easy. Both players simultaneously have him covered with their crosshairs and obliterate him after knocking him down twice.

This is where the players reach a concentration of Decepticons landing. They are lead by Megatron. It is all of the Constructicons, Soundwave, and Thrust.

Soundwave and Thrust will leap towards the Autobots first, while The Constructicons and Megatron will fire at them from the background. This part is so tricky.

Here is where a lot of quarters would be spent. You can fire on the Constructicons and Megatron, and actually stagger them and knock them down, but you can never destroy them no matter how many times you hit them. The best thing to do is concentrate on eliminating Soundwave and Thrust. They are not too difficult, except that is takes twice as many blasts and knockdowns to defeat Soundwave. The players will have to also move their characters around here to escape enemy fire from Megatron and he Constructions. Megatron and them will not fire as often, but a blast from Megatron takes off twice as much damage as from any of the others… so you have to avoid his cannon shots.

The easiest way to do this is to mark Soundwave and Thrust with crosshairs as quickly as possible, then hold down the triggers. Release the top button and move the joystick left to right to avoid enemy fire while blasting Soundwave and Thrust as much as it takes to defeat them.

Here player one gets greedy and blasts Megatron in the head out of temptation, knocking Megatron down. Luckily, he is able to avoid getting blasted while he redirects the crosshairs onto Soundwave. Blurr has already disposed of Thrust, and transformed into car mode. While in car mode, Blurr will fire from his own mounted black laser cannon. Blurr gets hit by a Construction during this, and suffers damage. He is about at 85 percent still, which is very good for this point of the game.

Both now concentrate on Soundwave, and are hit by the other Decepticons a couple of times. Megatron hit Springer, who is now at less than 50 percent. Blurr is about at 65 percent. Soundwave explodes, and now the screen switches to one where Megatron is telling the Constructicons in white letters ~ “Constructions!”

“Merge for the kill.”

It shows quick flashes of the pieces of Devastator merging and forming.

It shows Devastator’s face and a bubble for him talking with black letters reading ~ “Die Autobots!”

Now, it switches back to the game, but Devastator is HUGE, and right in front of the players. Megatron just watches from the back, still occasionally firing at the players. You can still shoot Megatron, but never defeat him.

Devastator doesn’t move much, and the players move their cross hairs to his face while he pulls the roof from a building and hurls it at them, really reducing their power meters. Springer is now at only 15 percent. Blurr is at about 35 percent.

They now have their crosshairs on Devastator’s face and hold down the triggers.

Devastator kicks his foot over the screen, which looks awesome, and Springer is only at about 5 percent and Blurr is about a quarter.

They keep firing, but Megatron has a thing for blasting Springer, and Springer accidentally maneuvered into the blast. He can continue by pressing the coin-op and player one button. He can also reselect his player, because at the top of the screen on his side is small squares of the 4 players available. If he presses Blurr, nothing will happen, because you cannot use two of the same characters simultaneously. He selects Arcee, while player two suffers tremendous damage from an awesome looking animation of Devastator leaning down and swiping a fist across the screen. Arcee wields her silver laser pistol. Player one has his pink crosshairs over Devastator’s face as Blurr accidentally crashes into her, bouncing them both aside and injuring them slightly.

Blurr dies when Devastator repeats his kick maneuver. Player two selects Hot Rod, who fires from the sides of his arms. His blasts are yellow colored, unlike the other Autobots whose are red.

He is actually wasting time firing at Megatron while Player One continuously assaults Devastator by firing on his face. Here’s that swiping fist attack, and the damage thereof which is unavoidable.

Hot Rod keeps firing on Megatron, and knocking him down, which at least keeps him from firing back.

Arcee fires upon Devastator, and is now causing him to make a roaring sound and stagger after a certain amount of hits. He is also starting to flash a glowing red.

Here’s that kick attack, and the tremendous damage, so now both players are concentrating on destroying Devastator. After another swiping fist attack, Devastator disassembles, and Megatron flies off. Now they have to defeat all of The Constructicons simultaneously.

They do so, in orderly fashion, but die and have to reselect their characters in the process. They each pick Arcee and Hot Rod once more and return to battle.

The Constructions are actually the same as the other Decepticons from earlier that only take a couple of knock downs and blasts to make them explode into pieces.

After defeating them, it goes to the approach of an Autobot Shuttle. Then it shows Optimus Prime - with the ship, Sunstreaker, and Hound in the background. It says in white letters ~ “Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost.”

Using the same type of technology from Dragon’s Lair, the game will show Optimus Prime and Megatron fighting to the death… as well as Hot Rod trying to help. Some parts of the battle were cut out, but it still looks cool for a video game.

There are cartoon bubbles for the speech. Like when Megatron goes: “It’s over Prime!”

Then when Optimus Prime goes ~ “Never!”

It shows Megatron falling and crashing onto the ground, and then scrolls up to Optimus Prime clutching his stomach in pain and toppling as Hot Rod runs over to him and a bubble saying ~ “Optimus!”

It then fades into clips of Optimus Prime giving The Matrix to Ultra Magnus (and almost dropping it with Hot Rod making the interception) and Ultra Magnus inserting The Matrix into his chest panel.

It then shows the gray Optimus Prime’s head falling over to the right as he dies, then Arcee covering her mouth.

The next scene shows a badly damaged Megatron scraping his way to hold on as Unicron speaks. There is actually voice for this part of the game.

Unicron: “I have summoned you here for a purpose.”

It shows the actual scene of Megatron being reformed into Galvatron.

Unicron: “Behold… Galvatron!”

It then shows Galvatron within Cyclonus, and the armada of Sweeps joining him as they attack Autobot City.

It shows Ultra Magnus firing back in rapid succession (like in the movie)…

Now, the game returns, and Arcee and Hot Rod are attacked by continuous numbers of Sweeps.

You have to dodge their barrages by moving around enough, and firing upon them is tricky because they are always moving. Fortunately, it only takes one hit to destroy a Sweep.

After scrolling forward enough, and suffering quite a bit of damage, you have to fight Cyclonus with Galvatron flying him.

This is so tricky, because of how fast Cyclonus is. Arcee dies here and player one selects Springer in her place. It takes a lot of focus to shoot Cyclonus, and he is always moving around. He will be farther away sometimes and even less of a target. When he is closer is when he will fire on the players in rapid succession.

Hot Rod dies here, but Player Two repicks him.

A cool part is that when Cyclonus is near defeat and flashing red, you can actually see Galvatron within the cockpit shaking his fist at the players.

When Cyclonus is about to die, he will retreat. It will then show the Autobot Shuttles taking off.

It will then show Galvatron within his Ship commanding with a comic bubble to “Fire!”

It shows the ship blasting missiles into an Autobot Ship, and different from the movie ~ it appears that this is what causes the ship to crash land on Junkion. It shows the Autobot ship crash landing on the planet of junk.

It shows Springer leaping and transforming into helicopter mode. Then, it shows Daniel transforming his exo-suit and colliding in the “Human germ” scene from Transformers The Movie. The “human germ” phrase is in a bubble, different than during the game intro.

Here, you will have to face the Sweeps again, while the background is Junkion.

They are the same as the last time. You will have to face Cyclonus again, and he will actually transform into robot mode after suffering enough damage. You can kill him here after 6 knockdowns. Player One and Player Two are doing very well, and having a whole lot of luck. Their power meters are low at this point, but they are still alive.

Scourge is the next opponent, and he is hard. Both players have to reselect their characters twice in the furry. Scourge will fly right over the players at certain points where his blasts will be unavoidable.

In car mode, Hot Rod will not shoot lasers. Instead, he will speed up and fly into whatever his target is pointed at, then bounce back to his original position. This attack looks neat and does more damage seemingly, but it takes twice as long to execute.

Just on a whim, Player One presses the Player One Start button. This causes Springer to automatically transform into robot mode and wield his sword. He will leap into his opponent and strike, and automatically slash his opponent with his sword! He will always default to attack the opponent with the most energy. This attack is enough to kill some opponents, and does a lot more damage then normal. Springer will then already have his silver cannon and no sword right after. By pressing the Player One Start Button immediately thereafter, Player One discovers that you can only execute this special maneuver once per credit. He tells it to Player Two. Hot Rod’s Special Move is to transform into robot mode and withdraw his hand and replace it with a spinning saw-blade. He will leap into the most energetic foe and cross cut him in a furry of four consecutive strikes, then bounce back and have his hand replace it.

This move actually causes Scourge to transform, and he glows and flashes red. He is a relatively durable opponent, and will bounce around. He will fire back some nearly unavoidable shots, and Blurr will be selected by Player One.

He immediately can’t wait and presses the Player One Start Button. Blurr runs around his opponent in a flash and punches him six times in rapid succession (even if he’s flying)!

He actually runs around the opponent, which is great for this game. This maneuver also causes Scourge to blow up, so it was perfect timing.

The next scene shows Galvatron with flying Sweeps behind him. There is also voice for this part as Galvatron says ~ “Sweeps…”

“…Exterminate him!”

It shows them blowing up Ultra Magnus and causing him to explode into pieces while he was holding The Matrix in an attempt to open it.

The next scene shows Galvatron with The Matrix hung from a chain on his neck while standing on Unicron, and there is more voice for this part ~ “Unicron, see this…”

“I now possess that which you most fear!”

Then it shows, and you can hear, as Unicron lets out a roar. “You underestimate me Galvatron!”

It shows Unicron’s transformation into a towering robot. It cut out some parts here as well, but shows a good part of the transformation. It also shows the amazing scene where Unicron flies towards Cyberton with Galvatron screaming “Nooooo!” in a comic bubble.

It shows the Autobots within the shuttle, then impacting it through Unicron’s eye.

It then shows the Autobots falling from the ship.

Now the players are within Unicron. The first opponents are those pesky tentacle like things. They will only fly into you and do damage, and they are small and extremely hard to hit. After you scroll past them, you will be drenched in water and it will show that scene in Dragon’s Lair fashion. It shows the Autobots and Spike about to fall into the florescent pink moat, and the comic bubble of exo-suited Spike yelling ~ “Hurry!”

Here, you can actually shoot The Autobots hanging and approaching the fall into the liquid death. You cannot kill them, but if you waste time doing that, you will actually hear a voiceover of Spike shouting ~ “Hurry!” from the movie.

The key is blasting the lever. If you waste enough time on this part, it will just go to the scene of the Autobots within the molten liquid dying (the scene from the movie). If you destroy the lever holding up the roof of the metal structure, it will go the scene of the happy Spike and company standing up there safely.

All this part does is change the upcoming part of the game. The players in this case shoot the Autobots, prompting Spike to shout, “Hurry!”

After laughing and shooting at Spike and making him shout it once more, they blast the lever just in time. Note: After three “Hurries” by Spike, it will switch to the scene of the melting Autobots within the pool.

The next scene is the players in the dark tunnel, where they will come to Galvatron, who possesses the Matrix dangling from around his neck.

Galvatron will immediately transform into cannon mode. He operates the same as Blitzwing earlier, except he has unavoidable shots, and shots that will turn you into ash even if you have all of your energy.

If you rescued the Autobots earlier, and you die here, you can select two new players ~ Spike or Jazz.

You will die on this part at least a couple of times. It takes a whole lot of damage before you can force Galvatron to revert to his robot mode.

Player One dies first and picks Jazz. He immediately tries his special maneuver, which forces Jazz into his car mode. His special attack is his additional speakers will pop out, and that song Jazz always plays on the cartoon will play. Normally, an opponent will stagger backwards or explode from a special attack, but Galvatron doesn’t stagger or explode yet.

Player two ends up picking Spike and trying his special move. Spike will yell with a voiceover ~ “Take this tall, dark, and ugly!”

He will actually launch tiny missiles from his chest area in exo-robot mode. They all hit their target and explode in purple blasts.

After enough damage to prompt Galvatron into robot form, he will bounce around, making him more difficult to target. His blasts will still sometimes be unavoidable, and some of his blasts will force the Autobot to crumble into ash regardless of his power meter. Spike actually crumbles into ash here, which looks great.

Player Two selects Arcee and tries her special move. She transforms into car mode and activates spikes from her rims and drives around the opponent with them three quick times ~ in this case Galvatron.

In car mode, Arcee attacks the same way as Hot Rod, by racing and leaping wherever the target is pointing at and bouncing back.

Player One ends up with Springer, and uses the sword attack to start Galvatron into flashing glowing red. Player one will end up with Jazz and uses the speaker attack to stagger him. Jazz’s attack in car mode is the same as Hot Rod’s and Arcee’s.

Jazz does end up being blasted into ash, and Player Two selects Blurr and executes his special punching attack.

After more fire and eluding damage, Galvatron leaps right in front of the players.

It switches to the scene of Hot Rod grabbing The Matrix from around Galvatron’s neck and pulling it free. It then shows the animation of the spectacular scene where Hot Rod becomes Rodimus Prime, while The Touch plays.

It then switches to Galvatron after being thrown through Unicron by Rodimus, but different than the movie, Galvatron has a bubble shouting, “Nooooo!”

The crazy part is that now you have to fight Unicron while on Cybertron. You can also now select Rodimus Prime if you die.

Dying is easy. Unicron will fire beams of energy from his eyes, which are unavoidable. It’s like fighting a bigger and stronger version of Devastator from earlier in the game.

Player One immediately gets the chance to try out Rodimus Prime’s special move. Guess what it is?

He uses The Matrix!

He pulls it out of his chest and his voice speaks, “Light – our darkest hour!”

All of the other characters are paused at this point, while Rodimus Prime glows and shoots radiating blue energy into Unicron, which makes him scream out in pain.

Basically, besides this, Rodimus Prime handles exactly the same way as Hot Rod ~ which is no surprise. Rodmius Prime does seem to do more damage (after clearing this game you can pick him if you continue playing off the same credit).

Anyway, it takes a lot of effort to defeat Unicron, and during certain points you can see The Dinobots in robot modes flying around Unicron. Unicron will attack with his eye beams, then a hand strike: where his massive hand squeezes everything on the screen and damages them. His other move occurs every now and then. It will immediately kill the players. He will fire energy at them which will transform them into Sweeps, then they will fly off and attack the Dinobots (who will reappear if they are not already on the screen). This scene will only continue with them firing at the Dinobots while encircling Unicron, and only lasts during the 10 seconds you have to determine whether to continue or not.

Player One ends up with Spike, who does his “Take this tall, dark, and ugly!” special maneuver. Player two is using Arcee. After a succession of blasts to Unicron’s head (I wonder if it actually matters where you shoot your opponents in this game), Unicron does the “Arghhh”, scream out in pain that he was only doing when Rodimus Prime did his special maneuver. He also flashes the glowing red aura which means he is getting near defeat.

After Player One has selected Springer, and Player 2 Jazz again. They have both executed their special moves, and fired blasts all into Unicron’s face.

Unicron will actually stop and grab his head. Nobody can move at this point. Unicron’s head will launch from off his body and into space.

It will show the scene of Unicron’s Head’s revolution over Cybertron from the movie, as the picture pauses and fades out.

It then plays the “Till all are one” TransFormers The Movie scene with voice narration, but more like a slide over the picture before Hot Rod, then just Hot Rod’s mouth is moving as he says “Till all are one”.

This is where just the instrumental from the 2nd season TransFormers Theme will play as the game credits will flash through moving space as was done earlier. Just a bunch of names of people you have no idea who they are. It will then show a paused picture with the Autobots repeating the “Till all are one” with their huddle on a retracted shot from Cybertron (the same from the movie’s end).

After the Midway Logo once more, the game intro will restart. You can press the start buttons of any surviving players at the game’s end. Now you can start the game and pick any of the characters you could pick at the end of the game. This only lasts till the game is done being played. After it’s over, the only characters available will be Arcee, Blurr, Springer, and Hot Rod.

All in all, the graphics and thrill of shooting at stuffs give this game a very high rating. Also the additional elements of special maneuvers and bonus characters are a bonus.

I don’t know about this games replay value, but playing it once is definitely a fun experience… especially if you are any kind of fan of TransFormers.
