Before allegiance, rank and function—before war—a civilian will become a warrior, a warrior will become a leader. As a leader he will learn of the most powerful weapon on the planet—a weapon powerful enough to bind legions to his will—a faction named DECEPTICON. This landmark story brings the major players of the faction together for the first time in a seminal story for MEGATRON, the DECEPTICONS, and THE GREAT WAR. The Transformers: Megatron: Origin #1 is coming in May!

Slagging heck. And here I thought that Black Horizon was going to wash out in issue 2. But these are only a few pages, so I'll have to get it before I make the ultimate declaration...

Hmm, looks good. Haven't been to my comic store in a while. I may have to check back in now.

He appears similar to his War Within self. But seeing the hazards strips i doubt he's a tank of any kind. I'm curious to see his alt. form.

Ding dong.

One thing I'm hoping for from the Megatron mini is to really see the dark side of the Autobots, the things that would give bots good reason to join/start something like the Decepticons beyond the "I WANT TO RULE THE UNIVERSE BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" stuff.

It shouldn't be hard, the Autobots have allways had a slightly dodgy edge, for a group that stands up for all things pure they're actually a dictatorship who's leader is choosen by a glowing ball.

It's more than a glowing ball, it's a glowing ball with handles.
Come on and wind me up.

Which we've only seen in this continuity hinted at by the art side of things -- the matrix may not even be canon here.

I hope they don't bring the Matrix into it, actually. We've already got a glowing-ball (sans handles) floating around the IDWniverse threatening to be a major plot point already.

Actually, maybe that's a clue as to where Hot Rod stashed the Magnificence - in Prime's chest. Who'd think to look there?

Not me.

I agree. My comics emporium knows I prefer Decepticon covers, so I'll hopefully not get this; it's nice, but too cluttered in comparison with the Megs and splashy colour one.

I really can't wait for this comic. it's going to be interesting to see where his lust for conquest comes from. anyone else think that the ultimate weapon is a big funk off gun he straps to his arm?...i hope it's a bit more imaginitive than that.

I never really liked the gladiator games background in Marvel UK. I disliked the same concept in Dreamwave continuity.
-> "wrestling arena" cover dropped my expectations for the mini-series a lot. :(

Apparently this is a Dreamwave series adapted into the IDWniverse, like Beast Wars was. Apprehensive!

Whatever Megatron is, worker drone or gladiator, I just hope Quintessons aren't involved.

FURMAN: Arcee is in issue #1, during the Cybertron battle scenes. She’s part of Bumblebee’s small tactical unit, which is fulfilling a vital role in the larger events unfolding. But she knows she’s only getting half the story, and so some sparks definitely do fly between her and Bumblebee.
They're doing the Bumblebee/Arcee thing from the Art of War? Dear Glod, not again...
